Skeletons are fine, I just didn't like the duration personally. Zombies should be tankier than skeletons though.

Ah, you are right. I just noticed that I have my minion gems leveled disproportionately. I guess I'll being going with zombies then.

Thanks!
Hey Aimless,

Amazing build so far...thanks!

I'm currently 55 right now farming merc ledge with mixed feelings. Killing mobs is actually VERY easy. 1-shot whites etc, etc... But survivability is a huge issue. Ele reflect is damn near impossible and skele bows hurt ALOT. I'm willing to sacrifice DPS a little bit in order to scale up my survivability.

I'm running up to packs, placing zombie totem + spell totem, then cursing, then mow them down. I'm used to playing glass cannon builds in other ARPGs so movements and placements are not really an issue.

In terms of 'quick fix' gear replacements, what should i look for to increase survivability ( obviously health will help).

Thanks man, keep up the good work. I'm waiting for a sick multistrike build from you!

Well you need to link your gear first :p If you're farming ledge right now you should probably have around 1500 HP and 500-800 ES. One way to get more immediate defense is instead of trekking over to templar through a bunch of +10 int nodes, get defense nodes for a bit and then respec when you have enough points to get all the way to the good templar stuff.

guys whats better faster casting or faster projectiles? i cant give up on mana leech yet. lvl45 its too good for farming, atm i got FP+LMP+mana leech+power on crit+faster casting 5L. but dunno if the faster proj will be more efective at lvling thru cruel? thx

PS: power charge on crit is too cool to give it aways imo :D

I'm a noob..this is my first ARPG. I'm pretty sure I vendored some really nice shit...

Now that I'm semi-competent I'm sitting at lvl59 1493HP 264ES with 2467.9 tooltip dps. Resist...I dont have any.

Hi,

Thanks for ideas in this thread. Its a very fun build, struggled through merci a bit (mostly due to poor gear and having CI). Could someone spot any major fcuk ups in my current build or my plans? I'm lvl 77 and got around 4.2k ES (Ci and so-so gear), 700 Mana (after reduced mana Dicipline and Clarity I'm left with 300, but have almost 100 mana regen), good crit-freeze and ok resistances (f 65, c 75, l 65). I'm doing maps up to 68 (didn't find any better yet) but I'm rather playing it safe on the mods (30 chaos dmg per sec and 30% extra mob physical resi are my favourite :D) loss of exp at 77 sounds disastrous :/

Tree (2 points unused until I sort out my plans...):

Skills:
Spoiler
Main: Freezing pulse + faster casting + faster projectiles + LMP

Freeze help: Ice spear + spell totem + Faster castig + LMP

Boss/rare sniping: Ice spear + crit damage + cold penetration

Meat shield: Skeletons + minion damage + minion life

Auras: Discipline + Clarity + Reduced mana

Curses: Frostbite or Temporal Chains for occasional crowd control (much easier to approach and dodge archers / casters, it also prolongs chill/freeze)

I sometimes use Blood Rage for farming easy areas, but if I had to choose between temporal chains and rage for maps I go for chains, since range gives me a bit more speed, while chains save my ass from speedy enemies

Gear:
Spoiler

My next step is to:
Spoiler
1) Upgrade my wand, I'm currently looking at a few daggers with more crit, similar spell dmg and +70+ mana, also maybe some better and 4-linked boots. This would give me a bit more ES and slightly better crits, but the extra mana is essential so I can:

2) Use purity. It would allow me to max resi at 81 (with inner force) and free the rings for more quantity / rarity gear (right now got rather low). I aim to have 150-200 mana which allows me to cast my ice spear totem, the rate of mana regen is superb although I stopped upgrading clarity a while ago so I should be fine with a single mana flask just in case.

3) Link my 6 socket into a 5-link (although it involves hundred of fusings, I guess it should be quicker than trying to buy one, as I have never dropped an exalt, have a few GCPs, and nobody ever would sell me a 600 es 5/6-link for anything else than several 'pure' exalts in this ridiculously inflated 'economy').

4) A 5-link would allow me to use life-leech which I then couple with Ghost Reaver (already have 2 points waiting, can get 3rd by respecting out of Dex node I don't need and the last point needed with come with next lvl). CI is ok (immune to chaos, self-recharge, and generally cheaper node-wise), but the fact that I can't rely on flasks means that I often have to retreat, cast a few skellies as I recharge and go back again. Throw in a magic archer mob and I have to retreat a few times if I'm unlucky with freezing. Being able to recharge 500-1000 ES per second (depending on the size of mob) would make me much more efficient together with constant freezing.

5) Respec out of INT/ES from the path below Nimbness and take the route from inner force cluster under the witch start point, which would get one more immediate ES. I went the path below nimbness because it's closer to a crit chance cluster, but I doubt I will even lvl this char far enough to fill it in (ES is of more importance now).

Other option is to go to arcane potency for more crit chance and dmg multiplication, but I'm happy with how often I crit and the damage is OK, the problem is more about sustaining speed and retreat less which should be better with (even 5%) ES leech. Maybe I could even drop faster proj for cold penetration on the freezing pulse if I get tankier.

Thanks a lot for advice!

a short sugestion for a great guide!

"Dagger preferred, specifically a Kris which will have 80% crit as an implicit mod. This provides more DPS than a wand's 20% spelldmg implicit, and allows you to use Whirling Blades. I recommend crafting on daggers with transmutes as soon as you see Copper Krises drop in late Act2 to try and get spelldmg, spellcrit, cast speed and/or +cold skills."

this is from the item section.

im not sure but i think cast speed cant drop on a dagger. right?

Hey Aimless - I'm currently running a hybrid of your build and Kripss but taking EB for mana and skipping the witch region in exchange for more survivebility from the marauder region. Working good so far.

Thinking of grabbing some good armor / es hybrid gear to get my armor >2000, which will be boosted to 3000 with body and soul and more with aura. Combined with good crit, high life and granites that should be sufficient.

Question: in terms of weapons, what do you think about Divinarius?

Hi Aimless

I am currently playing this build totally self-sound and it works out quite well (I tried a Melee Marauder self found before and got stuck at somewhat level 64 because of bad gear).

I am using the typical 4 link for FP (haven't managed to get a 5 or even 6 link so far) and found some GCPs on my way. On which of the skills (Freezing Pulse, Faster Projectiles, LMP, Faster Casting) would you suggest to use GCPs (given the assumption that you are playing self found, which limits your amount of currencies a little bit...)

Thanks!

definately don't spend gcps on no quality gems - use a few to buy something around 10-15% and start from there. Def recommend using it on FP first since its ur main and quality is amazing on it
