[0.11.0] Aimlessgun's Cold Caster Guide [Now with RF/PA section] Videos! [

I'm still sort of new to the game and wanted to make a freeze pulser for my first HC character. Should I use this build or Kripp's freeze pulse tank? Sorry for the noob question. The builds just look really different and Kripp's uses blood magic gems so I'm not really sure which one would be easier.

i cant get my dps over 2.6k fb gems i got are 15% fp 15%lmp 15% fasterprojectiles 15% chaos dmg on a 5 link armor alos useing a 77% spell dmg wand with 47% spell cirt why is my dps soo low?

I'm trying to figure out how you have so little life actually. Im guessing your chest must not have any HP. When I ran a HC version in the 1wk I had well over 2k HP at 60. Its up to you if you feel safe or not, but I'd personally swap some nodes around to get more HP ^ ^

Kripp build: Better for HC (more tank), better if you want to lvl to 100 in default. Also, really really goddamn expensive.

My build: Cheaper, better in default (more DPS), good for farming since doesn't need great gear and can replace supports/gear with MF stuff.

Debatable which is better for PvP, Kripps might have issues vs enemies that cannot be life leeched from, which is basically going to be every serious PvPer.

What lvl are your gems? What level are you? :)
The spreadsheet is useful for figuring this stuff out also.

A few of my pieces have no hp, and a few have really low HP, but well over 2k? I just dont see how you did that there. And I even have cash backing my gear so I wasnt starting from scratch.

Well since I didn't have access to any of the nice uniques I had HP on everything just about.

Also could be a passive progression difference. This was my build at 60, I shortcut over to the templar area early with the intention of doing a big respec later back to the final version.

Your gear is pretty good though and that skele totem is probably doing a lot of tanking for you :)

here are my gear at the moment.. i feel very squishy and die a lot from archers.. any suggestions?

es: 763
dmg reduction: 15%
fire 75%
cold 75%
lightning 70%
chaos -39%

Skele totem helps witht hose archers, they do hurt, thats why I make sure to never get hit by them.

Finally managed to get 2.3k es
And 2.2k hp at level 68 currently just rolled this new chest

hi aimless , thank you keep this up to date and help people with their problems. When I started to play POE after a long break this thread really helped to get started my FP shadow.

I'm currently lvl 83, playing always solo so I need a good trade-off between offense, defense and iir+iiq. The Problem is I lack defense(low ES), especially for high level maps. I now have to make a decision for a new chest piece and my question is:

Did you ever consider to use shavronnes wrappings for this build? if yes, how would you adjust your passives - less life and more es nodes,no life nodes at all? would shavronnes require a whole new build?

Another question: What do you think about the new support gem - power charge on critical hit, is it worth compared to other support gems maybe if you add some power charge nodes in passive tree?

Hm it looks like you're going for magic find and that's causing you to have no HP on rings amulet and belt. It's hard to give up HP on four slots (and wearing Geofris too), I'd try to find MF gear with HP, or drop some MF. I think amulet is the weakest one if you want to upgrade.

I wrote up some thoughts on Power Charge on Crit near the bottom of page 37.

Shavs isn't good for this build, for how much it costs. The chaos thing is nice but not great res and no HP and only 550 ES for something that costs like 15exalts is not worth it :)

If you have a Shavs, look into a low life Righteous Fire build. I actually just respecced to try it out, I'll be writing up some impressions of it after I get more experience.

I don't have shavs, but it seems everyone is looking for it and selling their old chests - maybe my chance to get one of the godly es+life chests for cheap :P

I'm really looking forward to read about it - If you can, please make a video of it.
From what I have read so far the damage potential is truly insane, but I personally don't like the drawbacks: be it the wasted slot for the anti stunlock amu or the annoyingly long elemental status ailments or the lower light radius - I think this is horrible in dark caves, ..perhaps I'm just a fan of the "old school" type of builds :)
