[0.10.4b] Bow Marauder (The Shocker (tm)) [**TO BE UPDATED SOON 1.0.0**]

did somone notice that there are 120 skillpoints max to use on your build it was only 111 a while ago what did they change?
First, thanks you for the guide, it help me a lot :).

I have a question, I just got my second 5L, I'm using Lightning Arrow for AoE damage (on my first 5L) and Elemental Hit for single target damage atm, but I don't know what 5th gems should I combine with my Elemental Hit (got Life Leech, WED, Faster Attack atm)...
sorry for the noob question but what else are you suppose to use with this buiild? all the guide says is lightning arrow and elemental hit with auras, do you use any totems? or curses? also what kind of stats do you for on gear? thanks for any help

The logic behind this is not going to ranger area before lvl 70 or so. Accessing Celestial Walker from to and taking Inner force. IF (inner force) should yield about 12% DPS increase if you are using 1.55 Attack speed bows. (did not confirm myself though)

I skipped few HP nodes because I aimed this build to around lvl 65, im using this myself and it is stunning.

Ideas folks - or possible explanations why to waste so much points on going to ranger area for just 15% projectile?

P.S Grab 30 dex node near the top if you are low on dex.

My Shocker is now lvl60, the passive skill tree looks like: link.

I'm farming Merciless at the moment, the clear speed is incredibly high, the survivability as well.

So are you going for inner force now?

I use a 4 link ranged attack totem with faster attacks, ice shot, and chain. The CC and shock stacking is insane on it if you have added lightning damage on your gear.

I also use grace, wrath, and anger linked to a reduced mana.

My curses are warlords mark or projectile weakness.

I prefer Temporal Chains (defensive) and Elemental Weakness (offensive).

As for stats on gear... I got 80% 80% 80% elemental resistances in Merciless, -36% chaos resist, 2.1k HP. You really want to max out on resistances and HP. Damage wise, you want as many static elemental bonuses, and if you happen to also get some % elemental damage bonuses, awesome. Never sacrifice survivability for damage.

Notice I use Charge Recovery + increased flask utility on those flasks. Charge Recovery is just incredibly nice and makes me fly through the game.

DPS tooltips 2.5k elemental hit, 1.5k lightning arrow.

EDIT: always prefer Movement Speed boots over any other. MS works for everything - survivability and clear speed.

Do you guys recommend an Evasion plate to get the GGGRR sockets? I'm trying to do this with an Armor plate and it's a pain.

anybody have an input?

With Iron Reflexes, it doesn't matter if it's Evasion or Armor. Just go with whatever gives you access to the 5L without compromising too many other things.

I'm not asking about Evasion vs Armor, I'm asking if it's easier to get GGGRR sockets on an Evasion plate vs an Armor plate.
It is easiest on Evasion Armour chest, medium on Evasion, hardest on Armour.

So considering that a whole lot of you are new to this game, I figure adding this section is a better idea now than ever. I'm still going to keep it as short and simple as I can.

You just ran around in the game a bit (hopefully - if not, get ingame and forget about builds and stuff, just play the game for a few hours), you are familiar with the basic principles, and you decided you really like ranged fighting. Feel free to try out my build.

However, now you are wondering, how do I pass through the early levels with that, or how come you can't use a bow because your Dex is too low... You start the game out as a melee character. Use two handed maces to pass Act 1 and Act 2 normal difficulty effortlessly. I seriously believe Marauder has the easiest early game of all classes...

By the end of Act 2 you should have a few items with elemental damage (amulet, rings, bow, quiver, belt...), if not, buy a few. The recommended quiver is Light Quiver, because it will give you 40 Dex, which you will seriously need now to use Dex based skills and bows.

Now would be time to make a Ranger, and go through Act 1. WHY??? Because you want to get some more skill gems. In particular Split Arrow (yes, Split Arrow), Fork and Wrath. You will also really NEED Weapon Elemental Damage, which you can get as a quest reward for Templar. Neither of the two have to kill Merveil, just reach Cavern of Wrath.

Next, head back to your Marauder, equip him with your elemental damage items, link up Split Arrow + Weapon Elemental Damage + Life Gain on Hit (if you can acquire a 4 linked item to add Fork to that, it would make things even easier). Now you are ready to own up Act 3, and this is the beginning of your Bow usage![/spoiler]

Why run split arrow and not lightning arrow? You get it before act 3 as a marauder.
Mess with the best, die like the rest.
