I already took the +1 sp from normal, not too good of a choice. Lvl 44 atm and blasting around 1.1k dps with wrath, anger, not too shabby in my opinion.

I got my hand on a 5L chest and I'm wondering what I should put with LS.

I currently have LS + Blood magic + Weapon Elemental + Faster Attacks + Added Lightning

What would you put in a 5L with LS? (I can't really give up Blood Magic I'm running 4 auras)

I don't have any mana left with my auras, that's why I'm running Blood Magic. I'm looking for as much DPS as possible.

Thank you Thehealthygamer for this awesome thread. I learned a LOT about not just Templars, but also Path of Exile while participating in it. The culmination of that learning and my own play experience so far is this:

Elemental Mace + Shield Group Play HC Build

I will be using this build as I level to test the viability. I'm only 21 right now, but I think I will continue to advance quickly by playing with groups and using what I've learned about PoE so far here in the forums.

It is quite different from your build at this point, but it also has a different goal. I think your build is more suited to being able to solo due to the high emphasis on only Lightning Strike to maximize your AoE dps. In a group setting it wouldn't be necessary to focus so hard on killing groups of monsters quickly alone.

Before this thread I really didn't understand how elemental melee attacks worked, but now that I do I love them :) I can't wait to find more awesome builds for other classes as well.

can anyone explain why the 2 "melee physical damage" nodes in the beginning are used for this build?

i thought lightning strike scales off "physical damage" and not "physical melee damage"

In this case, the physical damage you deal IS melee so it's pretty much the same thing if I'm not horribly mistaken.

hey u guys, how different between "one hand physical damage" and "1h mace physical damage" ?
