Mace/Shield LS Templar with Video and writeup(Written for New Players)

While it's a good point on the points in a stage, the flip side is, do want someone to come click the mouse for you too? I love seeing other builds and getting ideas, but in the end read the descriptions when you mouse over the skills and decided for yourself which way would be the best direction to take at the time.
I started this build I placed my points without looking here, just used it from memory as a guide. Not thinking I jumped right into the elemental dam branch and died early (playing hc), moved items to my sc stash, deleted and started over and went straight to the life branch. I did skip two life nodes for now, and I'm in act II now and mana goes somewhat faster (but working my up the magic branch now though for more int and mana) but I'm living and kicking ass, didn't need someone to point the way for me, lived and learned (though I should of just known better to begin with lol). I have LS, +63 to elem dam gems and I stole the fork gem of my ranger and I'm having a blast...and I'm doing it only using this as a "guide", not to tell exactly where to go and when. It's much more fun, fulfilling and self gratifying this way....or something like that. Not trying to troll or cut anybody down, this is just my opinion on making the most out the game I guess. I always say to each their own, but the mind is a terrible thing to waste. ;-) |

" No but build recommendations are always nice. Some people spend more time than others learning the mechanics and all the other stuff about a game. Last edited by Gorgatron#2975 on Feb 3, 2013, 5:35:12 PM

" Your 75 point build looks a lot like what I'm aiming for. Honestly I haven't bothered to sit down and make a higher level build yet. But yeah, I have a pretty standard build at the moment with the exception of Soul Siphon. I realize it doesn't scale which makes it a lot worse as you level up but right now at lvl 29 it's amazing. I will more than likely remove it later on. So yeah, this is my 32 point build. I plan to grab Fitness and then head straight down to Resolute Technique. I also have a question regarding maces and scepters. I know that scepters are called maces and work with their skills, but do they also work with passives that increase mace damage? I think I've heard that they don't somewhere (might even have been the OP, but I'm lazy) but it doesn't really make sense to me and I just want to double check. |

" Yes, 75% is the standard maximum resistance, however you can increase the maximum with passives or even some gear. For example this shield. |

I just reached lvl 25 on my first character in POE, and Its an LS templar with iron grip and point blank shot (later on). The clearing speed of groups increases a whole lot once you get iron grip. I just have one question, will it be viable later on, on harder difficulties? I plan to use something like this:
http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUABVuLjOFz7SBG113G3fO2hn1T8s7Mt9V1gpuExERyQDYjTbT58B-iABRNBLMyiXflV-KBb548TdiMdrUERUcy0biT6-4o-oLHQYd6uGz2rpNuqjJ-pwgVUBPMT_OqUlH57Ms_JypNFSAs6d0N_MVW-nRBpMLsOBo4p4SQVcAaZp5xTZrPQ2O3MVj1ncTdRmOn_E4= The goal is to just stack lots strength on my gear, i dont know which auras i would use... Currently got LS, Ice nova, Shock nova, Glacial Hammer, and shield charge which i mean to replace later with tempest shield... The build is super fun with iron grip cuz things just die more easily and i have a feeling that the projectiles now deal almost as much as my meele attacks, becouse of strength probably... |

I've already reach lv 39 but i still can't choose between RT and increasing critical chance. Which build is more effective?

Hello people! I'm new to the game and already tried Witch, marauder, duelist, unfortunately without success, are not the right class for me. I've seen several videos of templars tanking and smashing everything, and that's exactly what I want! Any idea how this build will survive in late game?
