New Trading System IN MARCH 2014?!
I really hate posting on the forums but here's how I feel.
Imagine a PoE where you can farm maps or zones all day, and eliminate the need for using hours of what could be precious leveling or farm times going to your hideout every half hour for a 1 chaos or 5 chaos item. I've been around for a while, and have played for a while, and I am usually quiet about things I'd like to see just because with GGG, they will happen or they won't happen. Alas, I am really tired of trade chat which has absolutely no function for the average player. Most people look on poe.trade for what they want, while trade chat is left for the deal sharks, and flippers. It flies by at 50 lines a second and for what? Not to mention the noticeboard is nothing but WTS/WTB topics, and rarely do I ever see something gameplay related such as maps, or progression. People say an 'Auction House' would kill the economy, but economies don't die, they adapt and change. People spitting the 'only perfect items will sell' analogy are clearly idiots and shouldn't be paid any mind. People with different budgets and niches will shop specific to those criteria that best match them, others would utilize it to flip, and so on. People often reflect back on the auction house in D3, which made it's first mistake in implementing the RMAH model. Even with the standard gold model, the auction house was a failure not because of its own existence, but because of the lack of diversity of mods, and compatible combinations with certain character and build archetypes. Everyone needed crit/cdmg/attack speed and so on, where as in Path of Exile things are optional, or complimented from within the skill tree, and now we have jewels that can fill some big gaps as well. All in all, I just don't understand the disdain for an auction house of sorts in Path of Exile. Also, the current system (or lack thereof) has me vendoring things of the 1-3c value and then converting the currency up. I may be taking a loss of profit, but I am also giving up some seriously annoying craptastic trade situations. I love pie. Last edited by xSyK0TiC#2841 on Oct 6, 2015, 1:32:22 PM

I think people whom are resistant to auction houses only do so because they are afraid prices of items will drop. Auction houses will encourage casual players to sell their gear instead of hoarding and vendoring it which will add alot of competition (thereby lowering prices due to supply > demand). So basically, it all comes down to the greed of the rich outweighing the needs of the many (hey, just like in real life!)

" A rough around the edges opinion, but not at all a false one. I think the main reason people oppose things is because of change. With change, comes uncertainty and reform. I mean, look at how many times GGG has changes things like skills, passives, gear and so on, and with each change of every facet of the game came opposition and uproar and panic in some form or another. I love pie.

I rarely buy things and never sell, it's not worth the hassle. I seriously prefer to play the damn game instead of playing online Monopoly. I'd engage in trading far more often if there was a centralized, user friendly and, most importantly, in-game facility.

" This. It would benefit GGG as well, because more people would be attracted towards the game. Flippers could still do what they do, even easier perhaps, and on the other hand people who don't enjoy stock market 101, can play the game and make currency all at the same time without the annoyance that is the current non system in place. I love pie.

I fear and oppose an auction house for the combination for losing all my net worth and once it is put in they can never take it out.
That being said, there is no excuse for not having off line trading and reliant on third party. Why they don't buy Poe.xyz and make there own "procurement" system is beyond me. And no, they can no longer use "working on act four" as an excuse. "ran out of high teir maps to leave on the ground - people kept taking the higher teirs" - Da Pagionator

" Working on Act 5 :D I love pie.

They won't do it because you won't need to buy as many stash tabs anymore. Why save anything when you can sell it and buy later if you need it? The only way to protect the integrity of the game and the economy would be to make items bind on account after one trade. Otherwise people will just flip shit all day long.

Time flies, heh. End of 2015 and still no trade revamp. Looks like it is not so important in trade based game. kek'bur.
Joke aside, I think we had enough automatic AH talks here, so that your (xSyK0TiC) talk is a little late. :-v Another stupid argument, that boggles the mind: " Really? It that best you can do? You can set your stuff to be sold now on poe.trade, and look - people still need stash tabs? How could this happen?! Also, why save items when you can buy them later... Lol. Have you ever played in temp leagues? Ever seen how prices change over the course of a league? Duuuudeeeeee... Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
