1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD

Ok guys, I have built my own Groundslam marauder after finding spectral throw to be far too weak. Right now I'm level 83, i have 4k hp (could easily get 5-6k with new gear but I just don't need it), a ton of armor, max resists, and I run two auras - purity (when I need it) and hatred.

My AOE DPS on groundslam without concentrated effect is over 12k. I can run piety in merciless beginning to end in less than 4 minutes. I can also solo maps up to level 70 (never tried higher).

If you're having trouble with DPS, there are a few key things:

1) you DO need to take ATTACK SPEED nodes to keep your character powerful
2) phys dmg nodes are definitely useful and you should take some.
3) you need a great weapon for this build. definitely get it to +20% quality and you can find good cheap weapons 300+ dps for like 6 chaos.
4) 5 link is absolutely critical. I run GS, multistrike, faster attacks, melee phys dmg, and added fire dmg. the best way to 5L something is to have a 6s item.
5) you can get attack speed on gloves and rings.
6) auras - hatred is critical for DPS******

do you use the skill near blood magic that reduce mana reserved by 30%?

No BM gem in GroundSlam link, so you run it from mana??? It's a very costly skill with your stated support gems, you can run 2 Auras and still use GS from mana??? How for god's sake, lol :)

Also could you post your skill tree please? You use many dmg nodes besides the good few ones (like Skull Cracking or Baptism by Light)?

Assuming he has blood magic in his skill tree, and if he runs two auras possibly has mortal conviction as well. Thanks again for the help earlier Monty, just got 57 and lucked out on a couple drops, bought multistrike also, made HUGE difference.

Guys you can't use more than one Aura when you take BM node, it's suicide. Even one is kinda bad:

One 60% Aura with a lvl20 Reduced Mana gem and the Mortal Conviction node is 60*0.71*0.6 = 25.5% of your life reserved! That is 1/4 of your total health pool!!! You know an Aura that is worth that?
Even if you spend 6 nodes to take Sovereignty, it's still 21.5%...

That's why NinjaArabStrategist (the maker of this build) suggest zero Auras used now.

Nice job, i hope MultiS didn't cost you a fortune... Now on to 5L and Faster Attacks ;)
But why use that awful Vitality Aura... Determination is nice, Hatred will boost your DPS if you have the Dex/Int for it, and Grace does wonders if you have taken the IR node (needs Dex also). Personal opinion ofc :)

But seriously when i talk to people in my group they have 5K dps on their main aoe spell, some say 15K dps (wtf...)

I am at 2K4 dps on ground slam with a 5l (multistrike, melee damage, life leech & faster attack)...

As the guide sugjets i've focused on life life life life life & life items... How can i improve my dps ? i feel so bad :/

well they just have better gear than you .

Ok but what is the main stats to focus on that gives best dps boost ?

+X X physical damage ?
+X elem damage ?
+% attack speed ?

Hey guys, I do NOT use blood magic. I used reduced mana with my auras and have 2% mana leech from a ring = plenty to keep your going. I keep one hybrid mana potion on the toolbar with increased recovery time just in case.

There's still lots of room to increase dps, I don't think 20k is out of the question at all. (BTW 12k dps is in my MF gear ;))

@infallib1e : Little question for you. Why didn't you take unwavering stance ?

@Raizdoe : i think +% attack speed is 1st then +physical damage (exept big number Abyssus,etc)
+ ele dmg will do almost nothing for this build
