Yeah i don't think iron reflex is worth it now either.

But for unwavering stance i never tried without it but i don't like the idea that i could be stunned. I'll would give it a try with eye of chacula but I need Carnage Hearth too much now because i run on Vaal Pact (which I like a lot)

Nice Job. Thank you for posting this and putting forth so much effort. I have been running flame totem mauauders since closed beta and finally wanted to try something else. My marauder (your version) did die in Nemesis due to desync, but I have decided to continue to play him in standard league. This is my first post so I will try to get back here and post my results with this build.

My non-expert opinion (only have one lvl83 char):

I was too very troubled by the "IR or not" dilemma...
I can say one thing: IR is not worth it if you go strait for it. Unless you "commit" to that part of the tree, it's a bad idea.
The way to go is going "through the middle" (Master of the Arena node) either from the Executioner or the Steel skin tree. That way you gain access to the first Duelist Life nodes (Steel Skin is not a bad Armor cluster by itself either), but more important the two awesome nodes Acceleration (+12% AS) and Leather and Steel (24% inc. AR/EV + Ignore Armor Movement Penalty). If you go for IR without the Accel. and LaS nodes, it's not worth it imo.
Ofc going strait for it is ~6 points and going through the middle is more like 12...

Personally i choose to take IR, so i can be more flexible in my gear (you may find a nice and cheap piece of Helm or Gloves but they are EV type), i was planning to keep using Grace aura, and finally i have a Alpha's Howl that i was planning to use (no IR = 770EV wasted).
I can't say that is 100% the right way, and in hindsight i would not care if i had 200-400 unusable EV stat on a nice piece of gear. But Grace+IR is still awesome ;)

Finally, below are my so-far candidate builds for my "final respec", which i really must make: I have been sitting in unallocated points (5 atm) since the release and i have still not decided 100% which way to go... FAIL
All are Mana builds and all use 102 points:



*Note that all builds use a lot of +res nodes, because my gear suck. These points should be respected once decent gear is acquired !!!

IR Aura-specialist (Sovereignty nodes taken, stats will will boosted because of +1 Aura used)

Like i said the first is the most probable, but i'm not 100% sure yet. Iwant to run 2 Auras plus one skill (HS most likely) from Mana, but without taking the Sovereignty nodes... If i could get that with gear stats, it would be awesome (i am very close to that as i said in previous post).

You use Amplify, is it worth it? I never used it so i am not sure if this node is worth it (plus "+dmg" nodes work on both GS and HS but Amplify only works with GS).

Thanks for the build, it's very safe and easy leveling.
I've started the build for a pre-season race, I did not reach the top ranking.
(it was my first race and I was very surprised that was going that fast !!)
But I managed to stay alive until Dominius, end of act3.
(I may have survived without the lags...)


So far, I'm level 49 (back in standart league), start of cruel act 3.
I 'm playing self-drop (no trade) and I died only twice !!


I think that there is a mistake in the build (or I don't really understand)

Why do you take 2 "one-handed damage and life" nodes near the blood-magic node ??
Is it just for the 6% life ?

Ho yeah ssry about that I was talking about No1 candidate atm:IR non-specialist

Honestly amplify might be the best dmg nod for the Gs marau i know about (the 12% one)
Think about it you cover 12% more ground with the same dps.
Not like dmg nod that's diluted with all your +phys dmg % (which we know that 10% equal less than 1% in reality)

p.s: @Moby1981 yeah the two one handed dmg nods are for the 6% life. But feel free to use it somewhere else most of us do

Not sure about "high", i'm doing average dmg:
GS 7660 DPS with Hatred (5673 w/o)
HS 12794 DPS with Hatred (9477 w/o)

My gear is mostly crap:



Perhaps show your gear/skill tree so people can help (if you do have a DPS issue)?
If you haven't messed up the support gems, your weapon must be the problem...
