Thoughts on new CI
With CI you now save having to stack 135% chaos resist (to cap) which is about 15% more valuable than the other resists (considering it's as common as the rest) AND take 1 affix in various peices of your gear. Along with it goes all the bad things of having 1 life and the bonus of stacking mainly ES.
You decide if it's a trade over worth doing... I'm not so sure (specially considering ES rolls are nerfed). |

So looking at the new passive tree, it seems all the 6% ES nodes are now 8%, and all the chaos resist nodes seem to be on the witch/shadow/ranger side of the tree. I didn't see any by mara, unless I missed one. So with -60% resist, maras have to either take a long trip on the tree or spend a lot of gear mods on chaos resist, or just try to outrun it with life regen. Probably the third option.
With the chaos resists by CI, likely ES builds will have a choice between spending extra points on chaos resit nodes and some gear, or taking CI and losing their life stat. I think it's probably good that ES doesnt require CI anymore. More choices is better. However, ES should still be viable. If it isn't, well thats a problem, but I don't think the problem lies with nerfing CI, but rather on the gear ES nerf. Making CI mandatory for ES builds in the first place seems to go against the GGG design philosophy. |

CI seems a bit silly now.
your effective hp with HP AND ES, AND chaos resist is obviously going to be way way higher then CI. Off the top of my head, I would say 10-20% life instead of 1 hp, would make more sense with no ES buff. This gives you a small buffer that can be healed in combat. |

What do you mean way higher?
Chaos Inoculation makes you immune, meaning it's highest possible. I think I will give CI a try on my shadow, he's going glass cannon anyway and would use offense for defense. We will see :) Alice_of_Wraeclast - Dagger CI Witch

Last minute doubts?
The passive CI Keystone still says immune to Chaos Damage. Also why are the Chaos nodes only 8%(besides a big one close to CI) and mainly on the left side of the tree? |

is called a ballance? With CI nerf and players willing to play mara - jesus mara can't afford so much percentage based Hp nodes! Sure mara can have many +10 STR nodes, but this shadow's path for HP is PLAIN DUMB! 260% max HP for 61 points....ES lovers still here? Pity, i wanted to go CI and ES(( No way now i guess.....
