Thoughts on new CI

20k ES with crappy gear? I want what he's smoking.

As a 10k+ ES user (12k subbing out my Maligaro's Virtuosity) I can tell you that anyone complaining about ES+CI being OP is stupid. 4k life is easily better than 12k ES. Easily.

I've said it a thousand times, there are serious disadvantages to taking CI. You get stunned a ton, you get chilled forever. You get frozen forever. You get shock-stacked easily, and they last forever. Your ES drains way faster than life due to committing to ES gear instead of armor/evasion gear. Etc., Etc., Etc.

I already planned a life build in Open Beta long before any plans to nerf ES/CI were in place. Life simply is better. Even moderate life builds.

Obviously smoking some mustard gas. You just don't deal with retards.

There really is no longer any advantages to CI anymore. If you go CI, you MUST get the two other keystones, with takes quite a bit of nodes to get it. Even then, it just becomes life that you can't use potions with. No matter how you see it, there really is no way to make CI better than having Life.
The advantage to CI is that once you have more ES than life, it becomes stronger to leech with. The problem is that reaching said point requires many nodes and nearly the best ES gear ever crafted.

Your HP/s will be higher, but wearing all cloth with no mitigation will result is far less EHP/s.

For one thing, as you said, no one will ever get there, and secondly, it's much harder to leech with spells than physical damage.

That right there is no advantage, for a shit ton of disadvantages.
Well, they're buffing the Life Leech gem and I've already seen a 4% with a spell caster. Immortal. I'm not sure how much ES is required for endgame now, but if it's not more than 33% higher, it's possible for it to become strong. The only issue is that it becomes strong so late that you may as well play a life build on the bottom half of the tree for that entire period instead of holding onto dreams of power.

But seriously, what do you think happens when you have 8k+ ES, a 20% leech gem, and 30k+ DPS? If you wanna get funny with it, add in Vaal Pact. You won't die as long as you're not stunned or frozen.

Again, that is simply impossible. Witches will be much weaker on the offensive side due to MUCH more nodes spent on defense. A spell leeching will come only from the support gem, which does not go very high until endgame.

I'm still going CI. For the sake of my masochistic side. I will not be changing my core build.

Nothing is impossible.

Fuck Chaos resist on items.

P.S. Sorry for the harsh language. I truly am. But..... It's called for
tinghshi, I'm talking about endgame here. I don't expect CI to be viable in the 50s as it was in beta. And probably not even until late 70s or 80s. Hell, it might be until good gear drops. But it IS possible to get enough gear to become powerful. It just isn't even a fraction of what it used to be and is leagues harder to reach a point of usefulness. As before when I saw the first Alpha CI node, I expect it to change yet again.
Thoughts from someone with alot of experience (yeah, no): Sounds like a challenge.
Aethias, Slurms, Invalesco, OldMan/TehHammer, Grits, VicDoom... I'm running out of the softcore ladder toppers with CI here to list. Invalesco was angry about the changes to CI before any of us knew about them.
