By the way, I'd be interested in feedback on this:
...

Option 1: The effect is $30 and can be moved freely between items and used on all your characters in all leagues forever with no drawback.

Option 2: The effect is $3, and can be removed from an item using something that costs $1 for a single use, or, if purchased in bulk, less.

The second option allows far more players to experience the effect and can move it the few times that they'll want to on average.

Note that these two options are not mutually exclusive. Also, remember those aren't actually final prices, just round numbers.

Perhaps the option for both Chris... providing the resources to support both isn't too much.

Providing players with more options will exclude less of the community. Not only will some players prefer option #1 or #2... but some players might purchase both options #1 and #2. Use #1 on items they constantly upgrade/swap (like weapons) and maybe use #2 for an item that is essential to their build (say some unique boots).

Thanks, cheers and GL.

Here is my initial suggestion for future implementation:

Make the reclaimer a reusable item with bulk charges (not unlike a flask). The item would use up a lower amount of charges at low levels and scale as the item level increases (maybe 0 at very low item levels (<20 ilvl) and scale up slowly with a larger jump, to say ~10 charges, for ilvl 60+ items). Also, it could cost more charges to remove a cosmetic effect from a unique and/or rare. Maybe then charge 1 dollar for 20 charges. The charges would go significantly farther at low levels but require more investment at high levels or with uniques.

I would definitely prefer permanent cosmetic options to per-use basis ones. I do not mind the increased cost for the convenience.
Do it like this - you have your equipped-as-normal items (the current inventory screen), and then you have a second, cosmetic-equipped screen. So if I have a helmet in my normal inventory, I can equip a beer helmet in my cosmetic inventory, and my helmet in-game will show up as a beer helmet with the stats of my normal helmet.

e: the beer helmet is also on fire

Put me in the *both* camp. I would pay a small fee to try something, but would like the option to turn it into (or buy separately) a "global" account trait.

As we've mentioned in the past, expensive packs of points will offer more points per dollar than the Closed Beta supporter packs did, but this is because those Closed Beta packs came with masses of physical and digital bonuses that the new pure-points packs do not have.

Where did you mentioned that !? I spent 50$ in the game 6 months ago and my friend will have more pts than me with his 50$. Wow it's so unfair. I don't give a shit of a little pet useless lol. I paid for the closed beta key too but you guys made so many changes, I have to make new builds and to learn the game again so my closed beta playing time don't give me any advantage over others...

We paid for a closed beta key, but for helping you to make the best game possible and for having chest tabs too... I didn't spent 50$ to show off my pet like people who bought a diamond pack. Those people don't care having + or - pts, they have the cash to get everything they want. As a bronze supporter pack, I'm expecting to be rewarded with more than a pet. Instead of giving me less pts than people buying after the open beta, I would expect having MORE pts than them...

It's on the purchase page:

"In the future, we may sell Points in packs with different pricing tiers (for example, an expensive pack that offers more points per dollar, but doesn’t come with all the other perks listed on this page)"

Don't worry though, the rate isn't crazy. It's not like someone paying $50 tomorrow is getting masses more points.

Perhaps you guys could find a way to implement both options? That would be good by me. Maybe like a "premium" version of said item?
Hmmm...

Just re-stating my view. Permanent effects/skins is the best way to go. I simply don't see myself spending points on something so temporary and of course I want my effects to be part of my character, not just something I tack on when I finish my character because honestly that's the point when I'll want to play a new character.

And yes, we all know GGG needs to sell something, but selling the same effect over and over to the same players isn't the way to go. There will be plenty of pets, skins, effects, animations, taunts, outfits, convenience items, skill flavors etc that will be sold also.

Question, maybe I missed something but are the pets shown in the youtube videos going to be the only microstrans items available for OB launch? i know theres more to come but I didnt see anything like skins for the weapons or particle effects.
I'm pumped for the open beta! Keep up the solid work, GGG!
