[Strongest Solo Variation: Projectile Madness Spectres] LMP/GMP Ice Spear 2x Totem 2x Curse 3x Traps

I'm still working on trying to find upgrades for my Witch, haven't had much luck as of late though, my damage is still pretty low (174 with a shield, GMP/Ice Spear). BUT! On the bright side, I can still do level 70+ maps without much issue at level 68

If you get an ES aura mob converted, it basically gives you 1k energy shield with this build!

This aura gives you ES proportionally to your max life. So with CI you get 0 additional ES. But for hybrid buil and for party it works nicely :)
What are people doing as far as dex goes? Right now I have ~130 dex because of gear, but I'm not sure I want to level my gems past 74 dex requirement, because that's what I'll have just from the build. It isn't an issue for frostbite or conversion trap, but for fire trap, temporal chains, and GMP it would be nice to get more levels.

What are people generally doing? Stopping at 74 dex req on gems? Or just saying "yeah, I'm always going to have +dex on my gear." Or maybe working in more dex nodes somehow? I don't see an obvious way to get more dex nodes that doesn't waste points.
Hi

I'm playing with this build - reached lvl 50 and I'm in Act3 cruel.
Normal mobs are no problem and everything works just fine, but I can't handle bosses - I feel like a total glasscannon and I often can't put them in a freeze lock and I'm nearly onehit (e.g. piety in the crematory, but even some aura-normal mobs just fry me).
Considering those areas have lvl47 monsters and I'm 3 lvls above that I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or just have to wait a bit longer (more ES from passives, CI...) until I can catch up with the lvl of the areas.

regards..

Hard to say without knowing gear and ES level.

I struggled with Act 3 cruel. I had to party up for the most part but I was under geared and under leveled. Run dock exp groups and ledge exp groups to level. Purchase some gear if needed. To be honest the biggest upgrade had to have been movement increase node + 25% speed boots. Always carry a Quicksilver flask too. Being able to run around your totems(or far away) if you get aggro is huge. Get some upgrades at gear if you are struggling. Make sure to conversion trap rare enemies. It helps a lot.

As for bosses, equip the right flasks/resist gear if you have them.

As for nodes, don't get CI until you have around 2k ES. You should be arriving at the point where you start going pretty heavy into ES.

I wasn't able to effectively solo well until level 55ish. I would be fine for awhile and then get sniped by a random mob. I'd say and even then I have to watch out for random high dps mobs. Just party up, farm easy areas, or buy better gear.
I managed to fight my way through Cruel Act 3 and I'm in Merciless Act 1 now. I still have max resistances, and this place is far, far better. Might be worth a try. You don't even need to chill those zombies..
What's everyones DPS on their totems at lvl80+?

I run with a party for maps and I can freeze-lock most mobs easily, including bosses but I feel like I'm fairly useless in the damage department aside from my traps.

Currently running GMP, and Ele Proliferation with increased crit dmg and my base DPS is 388.9 (I realize that DPS doesn't mean much, but I'd like to compare with others).

Can someone explain to me why no one seems to go for the crit dmg multiplier nodes?

Wouldn't that help wih the damage problem some people complain about?

And if someone goes for them - are crit chance or crit dmg nodes better?

Thanks.
crit damage is better than crit chance because you have a huge amount of free crit chance from ice spear.

I picked up some crit damage (with crit chance) down by the templar tree, and will get some more when I hit the shadow tree. As for why people don't pick up the crit damage nodes near CI, you just have to give up too much to get them. You're either giving up mana or energy shield to get them most likely, which are things you can't really spare.

Thanks for the response, but it would only take one point in +int to get that crit dmg, so not a lot of waste.

And since we also use traps, would it not be better to go for global crit chance and crit dmg than to get crit chance for spells and spell dmg nodes, e.g. the ones right next to the starting point?
