After testing, now I continue to use curses high lvl but no link to increased AOE. That was what increased mana cost of curses, not the curse itself. picking up second reduced mana gem for them.

So I'm sitting at 53 right now. I rushed to Merciless to attempt to level the fastest I'm getting abused.

Recommend I go back and level to xx in Cruel? Just gear up in Ledge Merciless? Totems are nice but it seems like I can't kill before I end up dying or getting overwhelmed.

Im in very same boat, Im level 53 and have completed the first 2 quests in Act II. One I did on my own and the other leeching from a group. I killed the white beast on my own and surprised myself by doing it solo and only dieng twice. Im using my Totems, dual curse and summon skeletons as my meat shields.. sometimes even spamming them to surround the harder mobs.

I started farming The Ledge in meriless around level 49 and can do it with ease, just gets boring. So im not sure if I need to find somewhere else to grind or not. I can do the fellshire just fine as well but dont know if im at a huge disadvantage of farming a higher level area. I dont think there are added benefits for fighting harder monsters only weaker ones.

Any thoughts?
Sorry I'm digging through the thread but I can't find what lead to you dropping a 3rd curse.

I absolutely love triple curses, so I'd like to see the logic behind dropping it. Did you decide a 3rd curse isn't worth a gear slot?

A 3rd curse also lets you use a curse your party mate needs without overriding yours.

Just go to merciless fellshrine and level. I made it to fellshrine at 52 on hardcore and had zero problems. You could probably beat the rest of A2 merci, but there's no point when you can just level to 60+ at a great pace.
Guys one question:

I must equip items wich increase dex and str to level up my gems or the cap of 100/115 dex str in this guide is based on passives only? Thx
I'm doing a build similar to this one, and I don't understand why the OP doesn't use or mention elemental proliferation as a support gem for the ice spear totem. If one guy gets frozen, they all do. This is especially great for champion packs and rare packs, as the normal monsters around them will constantly get frozen, causing them to freeze also, whereas it is impossible to keep them frozen normally due to reduced effectiveness against them.

I'm also curious about the lightning variant. I've tried added lightning damage socketed in, and I don't seem to be getting the visual feedback of the enemies getting shocked. I'm wondering if it is working, and the chill/frozen graphic simply over-rides the shock graphic, or if I'm not getting shock.

edit: from the wiki:
"
Shock: 276ms per 1% max life dealt as lightning
...
If the duration based on the damage would be less that 300ms, it's ignored entirely.

So yeah, the shock variant would seem to be basically worthless.

I'm rolling with a crit-heavy build just without the lightning, works great. I let lightning-ppl shock for me..

i've stuck with this build up to 39 so far, and i can't wait until it really gets rolling. :) i do have a request, though. could you please update the "My complete items and gems (goal)" section? it seems like it needs some love, as it conflicts with some of the updated comments i've read. thx!
It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, be able to divide them; if equal, engage them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them. - Sun Tzu

Lvl 50 on the basic build atm and I was just curious about what I should be doing in terms of defense. I know I should be trying to obtain as much ES as I can on items, but I see a lot of people also have evasion on some of their gear as well.

Is this because it's easy to obtain EV/ES gear than pure ES gear items or does the evasion help us too? Just know at this point obtaining the right gear becomes more important and just wanted verification on this.
someone please help me understand why this build uses static blows
