" I use Minion Instability and I really like it :) For me it's often the case that my Spectres are either super safe and don't take damage at all or they die very quickly because they pop into some mobs or such.. It doesn't hurt any, because ice spear changing to second form is distance based, not time based, but it also doesn't really help any. If you were using ice spear yourself as a primary attack it might be kind of nice to have it faster so you could more accurately snipe at stuff, but GMP ice spear totems just shoot everything, their point is to fill the room up with freezy-ness. Projectile speed does not help them do that. You can get quality ice spear if you want, but I'll use my currency on things that will actually improve my character's effectiveness. " I went second body and soul circle, but I started my character as a templar rather than a witch, so it was pretty much a given that I go there. What you're really asking is whether you have enough ES or not, and I can't answer that without knowing your gear. More ES is never a bad way to go, but certainly picking up the extra 18% cast speed you have immediate access to would be very nice as well. I don't know that there's a single right answer there. You do get some cast speed (6% prestidigitation) going down into the templar tree, as well as elemental damage, crit multiplier, and mana regen, so it isn't a complete waste offensively, but not as good as what you can get elsewhere. I think if I were starting a new ice spear totem character, now that there is all that extra ES available behind CI, I probably would not have gone templar, and instead gone witch and avoided descending into the templar tree. do you have IS +20 ? becouse i fink you don't have.

The visual difference is striking, the spears definitely go much faster. The actual difference in your effectiveness as a character is minimal.

I know that I still need to work on it. I have only a bit over 3800 ES now.. My next goal would be to get a better circlet with like 250 ES. At first I thought I should reroll the chest but you pointed out that I should wait for a better one so that's what I gonna do for now. :) Do you have another good idea which other items I could upgrade relatively cheap? Well, this is my first and only character so I don't know if I get really good gear very soon.. Anyway.. I guess that both more ES nodes and cast speed would increase my survivability because getting the mobs to be frozen faster would mean more survivability as well.. Yeah, I guess you can already tell from reading my post that I am really unsure if I should do one or the other but I lean a bit towards going for cast speed. That's just because with my current gear there is so much potential in getting more ES.. I just don't want to see myself going in the wrong direction when there are people with so much experience who I can ask =) Edit: Oh, do you know what's the chance to get 5L on a 5S item? I just found an itemlevel 69 Vaal Regalia with 5S but I am not sure if it is a good idea to try to get 5L on it. :) Is itemlevel 69 okay by the way? You're not going to gimp yourself with either option, but like I said I'd probably go the cast speed route.
Don't try to roll 5L in a 5S item. Use a 6S item if you want to roll 5L, doubles your chances (and you could always get lucky and 6L it before you hit 5). As for ilvl, 69 is okay. Obviously higher is better, IIRC ilvl 75 opens up the highest possible ES roll, but the difference is minor in comparison to the difference between your chest and one that is a good base type. You don't want to burn vast amounts of currency on a 69, but tossing a few chaos to try for a decent ES roll, sure, why not? (Assuming it is already 5L, trying to roll for 5L uses up a lot of currency) You can trade for a 6S high ilvl vaal regalia to try your luck re-rolling, or you can save up that currency and simply buy a decent 5L item. The latter option is more reliable, but you could always get lucky rolling. should i use GMP or LMP on totem and spectres? and if i got a quality GMP where should i put it?
and where can i get a better gear , i am at act 2 merciless and i my res is 6/-17/18 and i die in 2 - 3 hits. |
