Lore: Map of Wraeclast, new act predictions. Final act = Almost certainly volcano/underground.

Wow, Manfred. I'd never even considered that! That's such an awesome idea! :D

It's thread's like this that makes me wanna put actual effort into getting a grip on PoE's lore :P

Like other people has stated, the lore in this game is surprisingly similar to dark souls, in a good way.

There are no cutscenes or spoonfeeding of story. Those who dont care can ignore it completely, those who likes it - only needs to listen to npcs and pay attention to the game world.

IMO the story is for me personally, extremely important. It amplifies the enjoyment of the game to a large degree. Because it gives your character a more long term goal. Unraveling the mysteries of Wraeclast - and letting you work your brain.

TBH, if the game completely lacked story and lore - I would get bored. It would be like ordering a hamburger without the bacon, fries and the coke that comes with it. It enriches the experience of the game and gives your character a greater purpose.
we need more demigods, temples and acary places(like lunaris )

If the PC is possessed, though, then it raises more questions than it answers: What exactly is it that decided to make you its host? What are its intentions? Is it benevolent or malevolent? Can it fight you for control of your body? If so, will it ever do so?

Oh, the possibilities...

We, the players of the game, are the hosts. But what are we, according to the game?
same name in-game
I feel a "Lost" ending coming...get ready for disappointment!!!!!!!

More connections to underground:

Duelist: Pride
Shadow: Greed
Templar: Pride? (he was accused of blasphemy according to Nessa) Disobedience? (perhaps his faith is true, which led to conflict with the Templar Order who follow Dominus)
Ranger: Disobedience? Theft?
Witch: Malice or Revenge
Marauder: ?
Scion: Murder, obviously. What Sin does that fall under though?

I would wager...

Duelist: Pride (From his intro, he is obsessed with Pride of the fight)
Shadow: Avarice ("It was a simple job...")
Templar: Sloth (Failed as a Templar due to inaction)
Ranger: Gluttony? (Something to do with forest resources being hers or some nonsense)
Witch: Lust? (The bandit in act 2 is also a witch with seductive undertones?)
Marauder: Wrath (Definitely wrath)
Scion: Envy ("What if I was different..." discontent with whom she is)

7 Deadly sins:

Pride
Wrath
Avarice
Sloth
Envy
Lust
Gluttony

Dream within a Dream achievement supports the idea that maps are actually just a dreams of some being. Maybe even the whole Wraeclast is a dream, which would tie into 'Dream (maps) within a dream (Wraeclast)'.
„I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.
Wow guys, these therories are AMAZING!

I´ve always liked to be involved in a game´s lore, but I dind´t come to put my mind working on PoE´s lore as I was struggling to get a good build and all that stuff.

But now, thanks to this post, I´m so hyped. I´m seriously thinking of starting a new character to go through all the history again this time looking for all the lore!

I specially liked the seven-sins-based classes and the you-are-a-possesed-dead plot. I also would love to fight Kaom.

Keep this up, I love your ideas!

I think the last epic boss fight which concludes the game will end with a quote like this:

"Discharge to stronk, damn it!"

That would be beautiful

The map reading machine is also called the "Reverie Device", with a description about how it was shown to the creator in his dreams. (Touch the machine in non-Merciless, I think? You can view the text without being able to use the machine, in any case.)
