Dec 9: 3h Solo Turbo HC

Level 20 witch.



I tried so hard to get my wand to go BLUE-GREEN so I can get my spork +1 level. My gear was pretty bad.

Tried Witch today in anticipation of fewer competition compared to templar. Turns out that my solo played 26 Templar from yesterdays party race would have been better.

Killed Brutus at 12 with a Primordial Staff with a bit enhanced damage and glacial hammer. Just standing on top of a tp and hitting Brutus is a pretty safe Turbo strategy.
Merveil at 16 with high cold resist and a 14 instant heal flask was even easier.

The flask with movespeed was basically the first flask drop, pretty decent.

Rest of the race (maybe 1 1/2 hours?) was Western Forest farming. Exciting stuff.

Lvl 23, 16th place, 3rd place Duelist. I've never played as this class before so I just sort of winged it D: I died at level 3 but rerolled anyway. GG

No it was definitely not compared to last solo turbo race, last turbo race number 1 was lvl 28 with 5-6~ lvl 27s.

I dont think you can compare between races too much.

1. When people die a LOT in the top, this affects the race overly much like this week was. Grindis would have been level 30 had he killed vaal (died with vaal 10%). A lot of people died just doing random shit this week as well compared to last week.

2. This affects other people, I was way ahead of my templar 2nd place last week, which was 26.25, and this week my marauder was 25.x. I would have ended 27+ but why rush when there are no marauders within ~2-3 levels.

3. Race to race- week to week has different server statuses. I never, ever have Desync compared to a majority of people, Kotao etc can attest to this as I see it with him a lot, and I Experienced a ton of small desync.
I get the same random huge spikes as everyone else, maybe once a day or less for me, but it felt like I had tons of small desync, monsters glitched out not in the right spot etc which more or less never happens for me.

I'm aware that desync is a problem. It has to be mostly fixed over the next month as we prepare for Open Beta.

LOL is that how u award prizes? there was a character with a odd name in the list so i just deleted, as i like to have a short list.

Not too concerned about the prizes being that OB is coming soon. But you should employ an alternative system, or atleast notify players how the prizes are awarded - before they go and delete the prize character.

Well.. I played PoE about a week in summary. My goal was to run my first race at maximum smoothness, take a look at turbo mode and try to survive.

Achieved only half of this.

First shadow was lucky enough to hit 5 and then die in caverns surrounded by a bunch or mobs. I tried to DC but it was too late. I had chance to get into the first 25-50. There was a good start with rare amulet from Hillock.

Second shadow died of Hailrake being about 3 lvl.

My third shadow has survived and hit level 14 (got in first 100, lol). I will not post any items 'cause there are only random blues. My aoe damage was too low to face a lot of mobs so I decided to stay and play defensive. It was build based on freeze pulse, double strike, viper strike and shock nova. Dual wielding, with sword and wand for spell damage.
planned for 23 lvl

In general, I got impressed how fast players are reaching and clearing first areas and quests. HC Turbo is far more fun and complicated than simple HC. But there were desyncs during Brutus fight (more) and during Merveil fight (less). Also a few in other areas.

I'd want to play more solo races again but with desyncs being fixed.

Ths all who participated, It was a real fun. Also I would appreciate feedback on my passives tree regarding effectiveness in solo turbo HC race.

Didn't have any desync issues besides the normal whirling-blades problems. Died to a group of skeletons and a rare bear in Waterfallcave which could have been avoidable by me (I got stunned while WBing out which desyncs the characterposition).

Playing melee worked better than expected though, was pretty fun and relaxed.

I came in third for Ranger, not bad for my first race and my first ranger.
