Dec 9: 3h Solo Turbo HC
I am like... 70% sure that the only important part of turbo solo hc races are beating brutus, brutus is so stupidly overpowered and broken in turbo, that whatever strategy I have needs to be based entirely around that.
with two sapphire rings on merveil is just easier than brutus, even if merveil might take longer or more portal scrolls, merveil is quite easy to run away from and go get a portal up around a corner (easier than against brutus)... one of the hardest part about brutus is that he's so fast? and attacks so fast? that he desyncs quite likely, or at least jumps around your screen occasionally, combine that with the ability to basically two-three shot any character, in a second, and with stuns... well... last week I beat him, and in doing so was able to take 2nd place marauder, I reckon anyone who can beat brutus (at level 8-10 this is of course) can take at least 3rd place in their class? assuming the start the character on time.... so? what are some good builds for brutus? 2handed mace marauder who wears armor and life gear and specs fully in life and reduced damage from critical hits is my best idea... although the need to run all the way up to brutus and then all the way back around a corner to try and health back up after he hits you once.... is tough... a traps or sparks or even bow build might be able to shoot, pop behind wall, shoot, pop behind wall, ad nauseum? but... while this is easy in normal HC, I've never done it in turbo HC! and I can't practice!!!! speaking of practice please open more long term turbo leagues so people can practice for these short term 3hour turbo races? Please more midweek events. Can never do the weekend events. :( Did try it for a hour this friday though, and I'm hooked. Hope you do more in OB.
Also agree that there should be a Brutus first achievement. IGN : Jovial

" I would also like to see events on other days than weekends, and an achievement for Brutus. |

I may just not bother with this race if trade is still enabled, seems pointless trying to do well when others will just unfairly abuse the system to help each other out.

^ this seems fair. Solo is solo.
Hateful post.

" Where is it stated in rules that you can't trade? (which would make it unfair abuse). I think if the developers wanted to disable trading, it would be very simple. They don't because at least for now, they want it enabled. I find it amusing that many complaints have been made regarding trading and not one of them has mentioned the fact it takes time to trade. It's not like you're just swapping gear across instances, you have to organize to meet another player in town at a time that is convenient for both of you. You're still losing extremely valuable experience gain time by trading. It would seem much more fruitful to talk about how the RNG is screwing your chance to win than other players trading, if trading is disallowed then RNG is king, trading actually helps to balance RNG demon. All that said I don't really care what the final ruling on this is, everyone is always in the same boat, if you're putting yourself on some moral high horse saying trading is unfair and abusive therefore you won't even race, your loss. |

" But, at least we are getting solo events, remember how we used to have the same party race every weekend, and that was it. Even then, at least we was getting races. Maybe well one day have something that generates a random style race, from how long, to rewards, to HC/SC, to norm/turbo, to possibly what determines a winner, like quest progress, xp or something else. Randomize all of that and you could race every day for a year without doing the exact same race over, granted some do like to practice beforehand. Possibility's are endless, and they have added a lot already in my opinion. I think they will continue to expand these moving forward in many ways. |

" Friend chooses gem X thats perfect for your build but isnt in your class reward list, or finds a godly offclass weapon, trades to you. You just spent 30 seconds to double your total dps. Pretty sure thats quite the opposite of a net loss. Also, you can do the gem swap reliably every race, allowing you to run builds that actual solo players never have access to, rare rng gem drops aside. Theres also the issue of currency farming. Legion of vile minions running characters to hillock repeatedly and granting you all the currency and uniques at key points- youll be decked out in all rares within the first half hour, have a 20% weapon, be able to buy everything you desire at the vendors and never run out of scrolls. Trading compromises the integrity of a solo race completely. The sooner its disabled, the better. IGN: KoTao

" Oops forgot about this, obviously an atrocity and for this reason alone, trading should be disabled in solo. |
