Dec 9: 3h Solo Turbo HC

The Desync seemed particularly bad this race, once Myapeli died I just started cruising since I was first marauder by about an eon.

I went through the whole race without a single transmute drop, and what I don't get is why I can't trade a Jeweler\Fusing\Scouring etc 1 to 1 for transmutes since I Got about 15 of those in total.

I was referring to how it lost 90%+ of its launch player base within the first 3 months, not any specific defects. That said, very few of the netcode issues i experience here occured in hgl, which was full 3d instead of 2d gameplay on a 3d engine, allowed much faster comparative player movement speed and is 5 years older to boot.

I was grinding waterfall when i died. At least something good came out of this race: My claim that waterfall could be reached with enough time remaining to out-xp western/bridge grinding in 3h solo turbo races proved true. I reached waterfall with just over an hour remaining, which would have been enough time for my build to hit 29-30.

Well you're one of the good racers and so at least u didn't try Western forest for the whole duration :) Since many of you guys have so many demi's now it is pointless doing same stuff over and over.

4th place was level 25 haha really not high level at all, pretty poor quality race.

i was 5th witch 25th overall i think the merveil fight was a huge time waste had to return to town like 4 times

competition was better then last solo turbo race. What you cant do is compare solo to party. people will get much further in party based races, much less turbo.

Movement speed boots off of the vendor after Hillock helped a ton.

Farmed ledge until level 10, then went straight to Brutus. He actually didn't desync at all so he was pretty easy. He was also kind enough to drop this for me:


Almost died to Merveil about three times regardless; I was down to 19 life at one point. Went straight to Western Forest (fun) at about 1:25 in and farmed there until the end.

This helped tons for Western Forest:

I also had a 15% fire resistance weapon that I swapped to when running through martyrs, so I didn't have any close calls at all with 60% fire res.

I'll probably go for Waterfall Cave or maybe even Vaal next turbo event if I can.

The amount of desync occured much less during act 2. Act 1 still was plagued with spikes, especially Brutus...

No it was definitely not compared to last solo turbo race, last turbo race number 1 was lvl 28 with 5-6~ lvl 27s.

Brutus really was the only place with notable desync for me today, but as bow ranger, that almost did me in thrice (his hook is pretty devious as it is...).
Didn't play for time today, just tried to stay alive, though. Which I managed. Jay!

I died pretty early in the race against a sea witch, that was pretty terrible
Came back 35-40 min into the race, tried bow as a yellow dropped
I'm still surprised of the difference between melee & ranged in this game, with the possibility to cheese with poison arrow (that I didn't have) and the simplicity of merveil, it's probably easier for ranged on turbo than melee on regular
I'd like to know what the devs have against melee characters, because the more I know about this game the bigger the gap widens
