more events plx! 2 per week feels not enough while waiting for OB :)
IGN: Rollface
was an ok race for me. didn't really have many decent drops and couldn't find/craft any movement speed boots. ended up running 3/4 of the race without a chestpiece to boost my movement speed. overall exp ended up being slightly less than last week's solo turbo race. (was 3% to level 28 last race, 4% this time)

Managed to get top spot but probably not very well deserved coz grind decided to tackle vaal and was unfortunately unsuccessful otherwise he would have gotten top. kotao would also probably have overtaken me had he not desynced in waterfall cave.

this marks the end of western forest grinding for me. will progress to waterfall cave next race
and see how it compares vs western forest grinding.

I must say this is late game to me...its pretty boring for me to level up +70-80 .. it just gets old quick..

my 1st race came 3rd shadow lost by like 30k.. did not farm western i just quested around was not prepared for act 2

I did hailrake at 2 and found it easy, I'm not sure what everyone else is doing on him.

I got the global alert so I know I did it first.

I still think 3,5h or 2h Turbo would make a huge difference besides punishing instance resets.

2h turbo just means first of each class to a lvl21 area wins. Might as well make it 1h and skip the pointless extra hour of resetting western/bridge over and over. At least in 3h turbo races theres a risk/reward tension between the easy lvl21 grind spots and the better lvl26 or cruel areas.

I dont think an instance reset punishment is the way to go. Basing the top 5 prizes on actual progress (highest level area reached, most quests completed or somesuch) instead of character level would probably be much better.

Thanks Truncator. But I'm so not on the first page. Died because I forgot to freeze/smash skellies on Upper Prison. Diabolist raised a happy army behind me. Then died again had an "eye-health" screensaver program Alt-Tab me out. Finally just decided to just get a couple of chars to 10 for currency instead.

Damn, its almost like the EXACT SAME THING happened in yesterdays race! And no 200 ping to excuse it this time.

Im going to be blunt: The netcode and sync in this game absolutely sucks. Even with the nonstop threads regarding this in the bug forum, and the 10+ people that give feedback on it in every single race, you guys just dont seem to get what a massive issue it is. I read some dev comment referring to the netcode as "extremely advanced client prediction" and had a mad rofl moment as this couldnt be further from the truth. The server has no idea where the client is half the time, monsters teleport nonstop, players take damage when nothings nearby, flasks work half the time at best during combat, kiting large groups is absolutely impossible as the damage pours in no matter where you are or what youre doing. Teleporting back to previous areas is so common i factor the time lost into my race strats beforehand, and purposely avoid killing things or leveling in areas where the desync-o-matic "move you into position" non-feature can increase the teleports or get me killed. All moving skills, whirl, charge, brutus chain etc desync both players and monsters constantly and trying to move past monsters in tight passages is almost a guarantee of multiple teleports back to that area. Its still quite possible to die during zone out or zone in as well.

And this is at 75 ping on a clean connection, 100 fps. I can only imagine what a disaster the gameplay is for those with suboptimal machines or isps.

So my feedback is: FIX the netcode! Make it a real priority, and more of one than its been so far by an order of magnitude. And if you dont have anyone up to the task, hire someone who is. If the game goes live with the current sync issues youve got a not insignificant chance of pulling a hellgate london within the first few months, the gameplay wrecking effects are seriously that bad.

Ill be back after the netcode/server upgrade patch. Heres hoping it works!

This sounds like a good idea. Right now if I get a late start or early death I'd rather do low level farming rather than zip through the content (which I figure would be more useful in terms of player behaviour data?).
