Current Map drop is a Joke
" Rolling maps and spending currency on maps = FUN! Completing hard maps with a ton of quantity = FUN! Completing maps with insane pack sizes = FUN! Doing high-level maps with people you know = FUN! Not getting map drops despite spending currency to roll great mods? NOT FUN! They should make map bosses drop a guaranteed -2 to +2 map, with the level of the map directly tied to map quality and quantity. 100+ quantity 20 quality maps should always reward the player with at least a +0 map, with a high chance of +1. Otherwise what's the point of trying to RNG good rolls to fight even more RNG trying to get a map to drop and even after that, more RNG in the level of the dropped map. I've made a suggestion similar to that quite some time ago, although instead of it being guaranteed from a boss, it applied to the whole map.

I recently ran 8 71-72 maps. One of them was 110%, and another 125%. The 125% dropped a single 67 map, the 110% dropped no maps. Outside of those maps, each other map had both hordes and champions, and then either bandits, undead, or maze. I didn't even get a single +0 the entire time, I think the highest map I got was a single mud geyser. I'm fucking done with maps for now. I spent a good 35 chaos rolling those maps, didn't get a damn thing in return. Also, to quote chris "The map system was designed to be hard to sustain, it's designed so you can occasionally get to get high level maps, but not always. The problem is that if it was easy and reliable to sustain high level maps, you would be playing level 77 maps constantly, and it will get boring. That's the most difficult content in the game right now, so we want to be very careful so that players can only touch the most difficult content in the game so that it stays exciting and valuable." This is such a giant load of horse shit. Players shouldn't EVER be locked out of content because of bullshit levels of RNG, they should be locked out of content because they aren't strong enough to experience it yet. Chris also states that "it will get boring", as opposed to fucking what? Having to grind 68 maps 1 shotting everything till my eyes bleed? As if that isn't boring as fuck? I have never laid foot in a level 74 map, and my 84 cyclone marauder has such a trivially easy time with everything that the game has become a chore. The obvious solution to this is to make 77-78 content harder, MUCH harder, but allow players to actually get to that goddamn point first. Their maps retain their excitement and value, and thousands of players will not smash their keyboards when they don't have a map return rate of 1/20. I have a question about low-level maps (those of 66-68 levels). Are they worth farming at all now? While farming Dominus, i get 4+ inventories of rares every 8-10 minutes (from which 3-4 minutes are spend to identify, check & sell rares dropped from him. Farming 66-68 maps moredangerous, requires some currency and doesnt provide as much loot. So, should i just merge all maps up to 69, or maybe even higher, or there still is a point to farm them?

" At the moment mapping feels even worse than in open beta. As Caustic illustrated, map drops seem to be completely broken at the moment. I've done several 100+ quant maps/70 quant double inhabitation affix maps with 0 map drops, or at worst a -7 map. Yes, a -7 map. If this is intentional, and for some reason omitted from the patch notes, I have no words left to describe my disgust. |

Global drop rates were changed with the only mention in patch notes being bosses in merciless difficulty. If people are noticing dramatic differences in map drop rates between now and before release then GGG most likely changed them. "FullyBlownDaddy"-FullBlownDaddy™

I'm completely stuck in low level maps right now. I'm level 78 but have not been able to move past 66-67 maps.
I was so desperate I chisel'd a fucking ARSENAL map. And of course I got nothing in return. This is just too frustrating, I pretty much can't progress. |

You are not supposed to progress(nor doing maps, it's a luxury), but to do what you are told to.

Where did you get the idea that this game should be fun? It's for hardcore gamers so it should be more like work. It's about grinding and grinding so you can get fucked by rng at the end.
