i dont care about the answer in that video. if thats the answer of GGG then GGG has to rethink about it if they dont want angry players. yesterday a friend watched that video and he was shocked about what chris said there. his response on that video was that maps are the only thing why high level players still play PoE and i agree with that.
so if GGG doesnt pay ANY attention on this serious problem because they are too confident about what they did to the map system then they dont have to wonder when many high level players leave PoE soon because they dont want to spend tons of currency for nothing. " The answer in that video is all about the "highest level maps", "level 77 maps", etc and how you are not supposed to run them over and over again. And here you have people who have trouble to get to level 70 maps. I don't think that your video is any good in regard to this topic. |

So I had a bunch of last resort maps in my stash, maybe 30-40 maps that were between 70 and 75 with perhaps the same amount of 69s. With no hope in sight for a way to level outside of maps I decided to run them. All maps were rolled, higher ones were chiseled, full works.
I got a character from lvl86 to 87, and another got over the 85-86 line. I now have maybe 7x 69 maps. Thats it, all my maps worth playing are gone, anything I got back I played and eventually it all ran out in a matter of days at the expense of many 100s of yellow orbs. Running the lvl69 maps on a lvl86 character doesnt even give me a single % xp, I can virtually sleep through the map. Its not worth my time playing this game any more, refuse to roll yet more characters with like a dozen of them already at a dead end. Broken game. Chris is right about high content though, it needs to be special and infrequent otherwise you never do anything else. Sadly theres a difference between keeping the chocolate cake for special occasions and keeping all food appropriate for you children to eat just to get by day to day for special occasions and Chris doesnt seem to understand this. Maps cant be special and fun because they are so stressful, if this map doesnt drop another map Im essentially banned from the game, thats not fun, at all, it makes the whole process a misery. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Nov 5, 2013, 5:58:48 AM

I find the "solo-mode" idea really good, it would allow solo player to grind and sustain their maps more easily.
Of course, it should not be too high and grouping should remain more interesting imho ( according to GGG's politic ). I made me a new pool of lvl 66 maps from the catacombs ( like 20~30 of them maybe ) and started running them yesterday. I used maybe 10 of them, and in every single one I dropped one or two lvl 67 maps ( and often one lvl 66 map too ), so they have all been worth atm. They were all blue rerolled with alts until I got something interesting enough ( I had one rare dune quite well rolled though ). Si I know that this is RNG, but from the release, I have no problem with maps yet. This is only about the lowest map levels atm, it will go higher soon, and I know I may have been lucky. But it's like almost everything in PoE .... it's gambling. It shoudln't be such a gambling when it's about end-game progression imho still. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

if you can't sustain your map pool just buy maps off the market. it's easy as this. or buy yourself into a party which has access to high level maps, it's usual practise although i don't like it.
if not, deal with it. access to high level maps and so end game gear and uniques will stay restricted. otherwise nolifers playing only endgame will flood the market with high level items making it easier for people grinding on the level 70 gear check wall to buy their access to endgame. when you finished the game with your char, the recommended way to fight boredom is to start just another build. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

no ones asking for access to gear, theyre asking for access to xp. If they cant get access to xp because theyre trying to restrict access to gear then their system is broken, they have designed the 2 to be linked when they dont need to be. Im sorry but 'the game is fucked just reroll or quit' is not proper feedback, that doesnt make the game better, thats a dead end way of thinking.
Stop trying to shut down real feedback on whats wrong with the game with 'just deal with it', you arnt doing the game or anyone playing it any favours. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" there is a big problem with it. drops remain the same ;) means even IF you buy them others will run out of maps aswell. so many players running out of maps not only a few. what happens if there are no more or just a few highlevel maps left because they are not dropping? right. prices will raise into utopic heights. no one will pay 10 ex for a map that doesnt pays for itself. its not only the highlevels its also the lower level maps like 67-70 or 72-74. plus you forget one important thing. if you spending your currency on buying maps whats left to roll them ? sure buy 30 72s for 6 ex and whats left to roll the maps? think about it. I actually used my emergency stash of maps i found while in anarchy. I find it alarming or bad luck for not progressing anymore in maps.
