Level both if you can. Iron Will is better for damage, Life Leech for survivability. Life Leech is good for tough bosses and areas that hit hard. You can swap around easily as they are both red. I've found myself only using Life Leech in PvP and in certain maps.

Alright, thanks.

So I've finally hit 55, and now have my 5L chest equipped, and have all my gems set up for the most part.

The bit I've been confused with is the build doesn't call for a CWDT setup; every other build I've ran had one, so why doesn't this one? Is it because you need a whole item set aside to put Clarity+Blood Magic+Reduced Mana and one for your Lightning Warp/Arctic Armour gems?

Should I bother with Lightning Warp, or should I drop the CWDT setup? any help is appreciated! :D

This build uses CWDT. I personally use Molten Shell, Enduring Cry, and Devouring Totem all below required level 45. A lot of freedom here, though.

I'm trying out a new CWDT setup at the moment: CWDT>Flammability>Lightning Warp>Enduring Cry. Will post how it feels after I run a few Docks.

EDIT: NOPE NOPE NEVERMIND THAT WAS DUMB

I managed to get a RRB link on my Cybil's Paw fairly cheaply, so I have Clarity>Blood>Reduced Mana on that; I have the suggested loadout for Tempest Shield, and I have my movement Lightning Warp linked to Faster Casting with an unlinked Lv1 Arctic Armour in my shield. I found a spare Reduced Mana gem in my guild stash and have that with my Discipline and Decoy Totem in my boots for now, but I think I might need to drop Discipline until I can equip the Rathpith, since I still have a horribly low mana pool and regen and have to pop my Mana pots fairly often even with it running (as well as having only 400ish available mana).

I think part of my mana problem stems from the Perandus Crest, Goldrim, and Lioneye's boots having either pure EV or EV/Armour instead of AR/ES, so I'll need to find replacements for the boots and the helm shortly. And one of the two needs to have about 25 DEX >.>

Anyone have any feedback on the idea of running this build with cloak of defiance? Adds anouther 10% mitigation to mana and saves having to put points into mind over matter.

Thread creater have any thoughts either?

Thanks!

Cloak of Defiance could be a good choice, either in conjunction with MoM or without. At Lv 60+ I've yet to grab MoM (its still about 10 passives away from me) and I probably won't end up doing so, so that I can grab that nice Armour/ES wheel next to Templar and get some more block chance too.

The only downside is, because of Unwavering Stance, a large portion of the item itself is wasted potential for this build. And you NEED Unwavering Stance. Its not an option, especially once you hit Act 2 Merciless. You need Unwavering Stance like your car needs radiator fluid.

So its up to you, really. If you want the damage mitigation, you have two choices: 1) Do you want to drop MoM on the tree for this chest? Or 2) do you want to have the option of having a better-suited chest (no pun intended) that can be replaced if you find an even better one and take the Keystone? Reminder that if you do, you'll basically require a 6-link chest so you can run Incinerate + LMP + Chaos + Faster Casting + Iron Will/Life Leech + Mana Leech. In my experience with my (exactly TWO) MoM builds, Mana Leech is a requirement in order to sustain your mana pool... Although since there's a high block chance, you might not exactly NEED Life Leech for Phys packs, and once you get your Rathpith Globe, there's probably not much reason to run it on Incinerate. (note: these past few sentences are entirely based off of speculation and in no way reflect actuality.)

Hit 68 this morning; I was a little sad to see my max block go away when I dropped Crest of Perandus for Rathpith Globe, but now I have 950ish mana to play with after Tempest Shield and Discipline. I lost about 100 health total from the shield swap, but ooh, that spell block chance looks to be saucy.

Nice thing is, this guys' RNG seems to not be too shabby. I've seen my first chaos orb drops ever with him, and I've gotten about 2ex worth of Gems and various other orbs drop in my leveling him up, not to mention tripling my map investment so far.

Last thing to get now is a 6L chest... Like that'll happen soon, lol. I'll get an Exalted orb drop sooner than I can afford a 6L otherwise, haha!

TL;DR

Build fun; 10/10, would burn

Extremely fun build!
Been playing since the start of Open Beta and this is by far the most fun and tankiest build I have ever played. I started this build at the beginning of Nemesis with some friends. We all made it to maps but they all ended up hating their builds because they weren't as tanky as I was. Now they have all decided to make this build and agree that it's about as tanky as you can get. The only things that can kill this build are degen (Corrupting Blood especially) and just a really huge 1 hit like a vaal smash. I haven't had a single problem with lightning thorns because with max spell block I take no damage.

I can also try to get you some higher level map boss videos but i'm working on getting the maps to kill them at the moment. I recorded a Jungle Valley Map boss kill on Nemesis without taking nearly any damage if you're interested.

Followed this build, finished Dominus with Level 63.
Had some trouble with his first form but the second was a cakewalk.

Current Gear:

(Saffel's and Stone Of Lazhwar always on switch until I hit 69 for Rathpith.)

Most tanky and fun build I've ever played. Thanks for sharing that one, OP.

I am lvl 60 right now with all the good gear in place basically. The only part im confused about is discipline. Even with a reduced mana gem...it takes like 40% mana. It only give around 200 energy shield (therefore 200 mana). The result is a net loss in mana. What the hell am i doing wrong? lol
