[1.1.0] Ghore's Immortal Incinerate Regen Tank (EB + Mind over Matter/Max Block/Max AA)

"
Balance :

Incinerate: Now has a cast time of 240 milliseconds instead of 160. Damage has been increased by 77% per cast and damage effectiveness for supports has been adjusted from 20% to 30%. The number of stacks required to progress through a stage has been reduced to four casts.

Added Chaos Damage has been increased by 7% at level 1, up to 69% at level 15.

The added chaos damage change is nice.. but the incinerate change doesnt really do anything except drain mana half as much. Maybe it would be possible to change the build to have less mana regen to add more casting speed or damage to counter this?

Vandalain: do you think you could update your post to the new DPS with the new incinerate changes?

ripped on lightning thorns. game over

Yeah... I was trying to help a friend with Cruel Ebony Barracks at level 65ish and was having issues with Lightning Thorns.

Such an annoying mechanic.

Reflects for both elemental and physical have got to be the most annoying mechanics in this game and also an inexplicable copy of Diablo's. I'd understand if someone we could prepare to deal with those, but they always appear in a surprise.. and many builds are capable of one shotting themselves to death. That and GGG's retarded desync issues is the reason i dont even bother with HC.

With the new DPS increases, you can probably swap out Iron Will for Life Leech more often. You won't be losing damage overall, you drop the cast speed reduction from Iron Will, and Life Leech should pick up for regen slack.
I'll set some time aside here shortly to hop on my templar on SC and see how the DPS compares and throw some maps up to see how the cast speed change effects survivability.

Will update the OP with the results.

Appreciate it. I'm curious how well added cold/lightning would work with the ability when compared to Iron Will, assuming little-to-no strength on gear. An easyish test would be to removed Added Chaos and Iron Will. Then, compare DPS with added lightning to DPS with Iron Will.

I would do this myself, but I don't have a leveled Added Lightning. I'll ask around if no one else has one.
Could I use flameblast instead of incinerate?
The tree isnt really specific, so maybe I could try and change it a bit for flameblast?

Flameblast definitely lends itself to a much different playstyle.

For one, Cybil's Paw is the opposite of what you would want for a Flameblast build. Instead, look for an item with high 1) cast speed 2) spell damage 3) fire damage and so on. You could most definitely do a high block build, but you can get a lot more flat spell damage out of a strong wand rather than Cybil's Paw + max block.

The build also would likely favor high amount of burn damage and chance to ignite, rather than added chaos damage and LMP. Concentrated Effect may work.

Still, due to the nature of the spell, I feel you will run into a lot of issues. Yes, the stand-still-and-channel fits a block/AA playstyle, I agree. The mana cost is not nearly as high, though, and you can definitely drop a lot of the regen. Still, you would be doing a lot of burst damage, risking killing yourself off reflect mobs.

In my opinion, clever use of spell totems may work better than this type of build.

If you aren't playing hardcore, self-casting won't be as big of an issue. You can play smart around reflect packs and, if you miss the reflect or it comes in from off-screen and you cannot cancel the cast, death isn't the end. It's just very restrictive on a hardcore character. If you aren't stacking the flameblast up, you'd be better off with a different spell is all.
I feel that cybil's paw has been made pretty useless now that the casting time has nearly doubled.. what are your thoughts on that and perhaps there'd be a more suitable replacement? ie: a great wand with high +cast speed and +spell damage which would allow you to remove iron will and put in life leech permanently perhaps? Maybe thorns wouldnt be a problem at all with a LL 20% Q lvl 18+

It seems to me this way you could benefit from Vaal Pact.. who needs potions anyway, you can just warp out at the first sign of trouble, turn in circles and let your amazing hp regen take you back up?

I really dont know if any of these suggestions are noobish, i've only been playing for a couple weeks.. but that seems like it would work better now with a slower incinerate

theres some wands with similar stats:

17% increased Spell Damage
75% increased Spell Damage
23% increased Fire Damage
19% increased Cast Speed
62% increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells
+16 to maximum Mana
