I Cast Magic Missile! - Cantrip's Guide to Ethereal Knives

This has turned out to be my favorite build yet. I initially had a bit of a hard time early on getting enough stats to use gear and level gems due to little currency in this league. I had to take a few of the +30 STR/INT nodes early on until I could afford gear with the stats i needed. I respecd out of them around level 50 or so once I found the gear I needed. For stats I ended up using these:




Here is my current build


Im only at ~2500 HP atm, and running Grace, Hatred, Clarity and Arctic Armor. I tried running MoM briefly with ~250 mana but retrained it. After I get the Sovereignty nodes, Im going to either try MoM again or get some more HP nodes.

Here is the rest of my gear. I plan on getting a bit better wand with cast speed next. Some of the gems are also a bit out of place, ive been messing around and trying a few things.



My only real issue now is having enough free time to play :P

@Noburu: Glad you like it and are having fun!
2 things to bear in mind:
a - you only have ES on your shield, and that's very low (EB doesn't give you a lot of mana).
b - Once you have the Reduced Mana nodes from Templar, a LOT of Mana becomes free.
Both of those together make MoM useful, but with neither, you can't really use it.

Nice gear, by the way! A shame about the lack of Lightning Coil ;)

Yeah I mostly only play on the weekends which mean progress and upgrading is a bit slower for me. Lightning coil is a bit down the road for me.

EDIT: Also the shield was one of my level 60 quick and dirty bandaids to get my HP up, as I had almost zero health on items at that point.

Been having fun with this build in nemesis before i ripped :P.Only downside is that this build takes time to really feel good. For me, it was about lvl 55ish. On the other hand, being really tanky and deling good dmg is very nice.

The 6L looks great, Damage looks good, but could you please link your build? That 2000 Life is awfully risky. You should seriously work on boosting that with gear/nodes.

For a pure MFer, I guess that works. But you're almost a glass cannon. Granted, you have decent Armor and Arctic Armor, and MoM, so that helps, but still, ouch. Under 100% Life... Even as en ES build you get more than that.

Well, if it works for you, it works :)
I'd suggest switching one of the damage gems for 20/20 Faster Projectiles. It adds so much more Clear Speed, and it's much safer to have it.

I was pure mfer before. I was triple sporker but quit game and back after some months.I quited because as you guess I was low life with very little damage and very little survivability but 130+iir 400+iiq making 20-30 chaos a day from just farming(unided craft).But I wasnt enjoying the game if I find parties I can do map without them I cant do any map and cant go and blood damage even with shavy its hard for a culler.When I back I am trying to get enough mf to keep me going and just enough dps and just enough survivability and your build giving me that :) finally I think I find a build which suits me :) when I levelup and have to party maps(76+maps)
I think I can swap some armor and fit the map :) atm I am enjoying the game .

This build is a great Solo MFer. For a party, I'd suggest a skill that has Pierce or Fork (AKA: Freezing Pulse / Incinerate / Spark / Firestorm / Ice Nova / Shock Nova...). In any case, glad it's working out for you!
