We players want an auction house
I have read the post.
I still don't want to see that kind of interaction. It still posses the same problem. It's slow. Having to manually search for items through a separate trade tab for parties, is just as slow as all the other ways of finding or selling items. How would your suggestion SOLVE the problem of saving time? How is it more efficient? How is it better? How is it worse? Having a central trade hub, where players can search for items much faster, see various prices, and fast contact of players, saves time. It helps players learn value of items. It helps players get reward for looted items faster. It makes a central location for all trade interaction. Not using 3 separate sources for the same thing. " True, we cannot see all the data. The problem, in my opinion, is that there is a large portion of the community that does not know the value of items. They have a hard time putting value on currency and items. This is mostly dictated by players who have a better understanding. If a central trade hub was added, you will alleviate the player base that is struggling with this. What happens is you get more players that have a better understanding of prices, and can finally provide input to prices. The market will adjust itself accordingly. HOW that market adjusts, no one can say for certain. I highly doubt it would cause a total destruction of the economy, or rapid inflation or deflation of currency. What I expect to happen is currency prices fluctuate slightly, and more items are flooded into the market. Players will be able to trade much faster and smoothly. For a time, I think it will greatly increase trade frequency and currency flow. "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence."

" I also stated that my idea was a personal opinion. Yet you still attack me for giving up my idea's. What is a forum for if not for ppl to give their idea's. Your attack was not warranted, and just plain rude. Give your idea in addition to mine... don't just attack mine as if it is not valid. To compensate for the addition of an AH, GGG would have to lower the drop rate and mod roll rate of certain mods and items to compensate for the fact that players would have such easy access to anything they wanted. " People who are "clever" would still do trade public parties in exactly the same spot where current public parties is. Why? Because they reach a larger audience that way. It will catch almost every person that tries to find a regular party as opposed to only those who are looking for a trade party. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" Besides. The leagues that matters are reset every 4 months. No need to care about what happens in the permanent leagues since GGG doesn't intend to balance around them. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" I like how you put the word clever inside quotes. Captain subtext reads it as dbags of the internet. I see your point. |

Your right. I'm sorry.
How can we expand on the idea of trade spam? How do we solve the problem of trade spamm? ----------------------------- Right now, here are the options: Players use Trade channels. Players use Forum Threads. Players use Parties with tittles WTS/WTB All trade channels are slow to find items. All trade channels are flooded and spammed with user input. Forums threads are spammed with multiple shops, with moderate items. Forums have a large quantity of threads, and minimal returns for the general public. Trade parties have flooded the party channel. All of these ways of posting and finding items have the same problems. They are slow. They do not provide search functionality. It is not central. It is not organized. ----------------------- Procurement and poe.xyz are Third party sources. The fact that players had to create interfaces such as Procurement, and websites like poe.xyz, proves there is a problem with the system's design. It should not be the responsibility of the players to provide such interfaces. ------------------------- How does a Trade Hub solve all of this? It provides one central location. It is organized. It is fast. Not only in search functionality, but the speed of trade interactions increased. (From the time of item being listed, to the time of the trade itself) It lists sell prices, and buy prices. For both players wanting to sell items, and players wanting to buy certain items. It also provides knowledge. Information on value of items and currency. Players can now learn easily what items are valuable, and why they are valuable. They learn what stats are good and what are bad. Players can list items much faster, and get faster results for their efforts of playing the game. ---------------- If players have to spend more than 15 minutes looking for an upgrade for items, there is a problem. Because now you are spending lots of time searching for items, and not progressing through the game. This is exactly why players feel they hit a wall. They feel they cannot advance because drop rates are not helping, and finding upgrades for items is difficult. Trade functionality should flow, be smooth, and work with overall gameplay. Not be a separate aspect of the game players have to dedicate massive time to. "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence." Last edited by Hixxie#2252 on Nov 19, 2013, 1:12:25 PM

" I agree, but I think there will be much less wastage in the economy, which likely means more inflation. This is because the average standard of gear will rise, which makes players last longer and farm better. |
