@ventiman : the way you speak is broken, using the words : shit + scumbag, someone would feel like if you are calling ME ( original poster) as a scumbag, so are you calling me that ? Let's make things clear right now!

I know you are not and i know it's just the way you are( you speak what you think, with huge hatred toward the world) i understand you, i am 100% convinced you did not meant what you said about flippers to target me, or do you insult ALL FLIPPERS ? )

in the end does it even matter in the grand picture ?
you are part of the problem and using moral highground with iam a good flipper doesnt help you at all it just means your margin is lower than the margin of scumbag flippers

i perfectly understand your position in this you place a bid you get the item or not with your margin in your head it is perfectly fine for you

lets see what flipping causes to the guy who plays lets say 10h a week 2 days off so 2h a day saves for Bringer of Rain reason for that he likes the powerful facebreaker build which is so popular now he estimates the BoR at 4ex so he tries to save up 4ex which is hard for a casual

but wait flipper discovered man that item is rare and ppl are willing to pay more for it so it sells now for 5ex but wait that isnt enough someone thinks damm he is willing to pay 5ex now lets see if i can squeeze more out of him......conclusion the BoR costs 7ex in onslaught now for a mediocre roll i know it i had to pay that price

in the end i pay more for an item and the fact that i have to pay more includes no service for me at all so much for the retail analogy scroctie i already did that with my litre of milk

@FullCust: Take off the tinfoil hat. There are far more uniques out there than any one flipper could control; even a dedicated coalition of flippers would not be able to corner more than half of the market. No one has a monopoly on a goddamn thing.

@ventiman: You shouldn't confuse the activity of flippers with pure raw market values. If increasing demand causes an item to be more popular, causing prices to rise, that is a result of increased demand from the buyers, not anything the flipper is doing. Maybe a flipper milked an extra Exalt out of you (fair market of 6Ex, you paid 7Ex)... but if that was truly the case, additional time spent shopping would have eventually led you to a better deal.

Flipping doesn't work as well when you're dealing with a smart player. I personally tell lowballers to piss off as well as people who are clearly trying to flip currency exchanges.

Also, the amount you can make flipping currency isn't a guaranteed deal. For example, I could mess around and try to buy exalts for chaos for a lowball rate, like 25:1, and then look to sell exalts for 30 chaos. I could spam trade 6 hours and only make maybe 10-15 chaos. I can make 40-50 chaos farming in the same amount of time.

The worst offender of lowballing I've seen recently was a certain someone trying to buy an eternal orb for 37 GCP!!! Talk about lowball, lol!! Considering people are buying eternals in trade for as much as 4ex + 10 chaos, which is = to 65 gcp. And he spammed trade for HOURS. I guarantee even if he found someone dumb enough to sell him one for that price I made more currency farming in that same amount of time than he did.

I also had someone offer me 10 chaos for a 5L soul mantle, which is worth about 2ex. I told that person exactly where they could shove their lowball offer. My trading strategy is to flame every single lowballer, in hopes that they will never bother wasting my time again. Hopefully they put me on ignore after that, which is the intention of flaming them to begin with.

Every now and then you can find a seller selling a good item for a semi lowball amount, and when you see an opportunity, jump on it.

For example, I bought a bringer of rain for 4ex, and flipped it for 6ex in 30 minutes. How? I happened to be the first person to message the seller and buy it. BUT, you can't count on opportunities like this showing up every day. That particular player hasn't played in a few months and didn't realize the price went up on Bringer of Rain in Anarchy. 4ex was the price when chaos orbs were still 50-55:1 exalts. Some items have gone up in exalts to compensate for exalts being devalued, bringer of rain is one of those items. Some other items went down in price along with exalts. Bringer of rain is a GGs helmet, and 6ex is still relatively cheap for a piece of GGs gear.

I also caught someone earlier selling a Shavvone's Revalation for 15 chaos, which is a complete steal for that item. That ring is going to be quite valuable when the league ends and goes to standard. I suspect the price in standard for that ring will be 10ex. Also, Voll's Devotion, you can't have an uber discharger without that amulet. Price will be high on those in standard, much higher than current anarchy rates. Its a good investment.

The best way to get ahead is a combination of ways. Pay attention to trade channels while you're farming. Put all the ones spamming to buy currency for lowball amounts on ignore, as well as the ones spamming junk unique items, so you can try to catch someone selling an item for lowball.

Also, when you find a good item worth 5+ exalts, its worth sitting on for as long as you need to sit on it to get top of the market price for it. Don't sell those items for 2 cheap. You got 4+ stash tabs, and what better use for those tabs than loading them with items worth 5+ ex?

What? It has EVERYTHING to do with supply and demand. There is a low supply of Shav ring and Voll amulet because people are ripping them to standard. Demand (for use in onslaught) stays the same. With Demand = same and supply = low, prices increase. That's econ 101.

Besides, that has nothing to do with what Inexium is talking about in this thread, as he flips in Anarchy, where items stay. Lobby for Onslaught items to be deleted upon character death. It'd make most of the standard players happier as well.
there's a low supply of shav's ring in onslaught because so many are being ripped to SC - a whole league has to suffer because of the few that is ripping to SC - the few actually benefiit are quite abusive to those that will use the ring in the game but cannot afford it

Right, and if ONS items disappeared instead of going to SC, they couldn't do that.

@Venti - it's kind of strange you have called both flipper and farmers "cancers," yet up until a week ago you had your one character labeled as a "merveil farmer" in your signature.

Some of us would like to buy the expensive item they so desire after a month tops and not have to farm until the league basically is over.

But ok, I mean there are a lot of people who think that having earned 100 Exalted since OB started is a lot, yet you can easily make that amount in a month (even faster if you have something to build up on).

I guess I am misunderstanding you. What kind of farmer are you talking about here, then?

i read scroties post and i think its bullshit a game doesnt need farmer and a game doesnt need flipper both are cancer to a game the farmer inflates everything with mass production and the flipper creates a fake price

Multiboxers? If that's the case I agree, MB is bullshit, but you said "farmers."

The real question Can i expect to sell my worthless exalts for 40-50 chaos and other vital map materials once the leagues merge?

Or even better, will there finally be a way to grind exp other than pouring currency into map rng?
