This at least partially undermines your point that self-finding something is a great accomplishment. If you were able to achieve this due to higher drop rates, it diminishes the accomplishment.

I would agree with you if the drop rates weren't so abysmal. Also I don't think I said accomplishment, what I meant was FUN. I find it more enjoyable to find or craft my own stuff.

Sitting in trade chat for hours looking for arbitrage opportunities to fund gear upgrades is harder (and takes more skill) than chaos spamming and alt-regal spamming in a hypothetical SFL with WAY MOAR ORBS than currently available.

The whole idea that your equating sitting in trade chat as playing the actual game is the problem. It takes skill? wow....

Way more orbs? In a self found league you only work with the orbs you got. There is no WTB 70 fusings for my 1 exalt which goes on constantly in the current leagues. Trading is the real EZ mode.

Bashing the hypothetical drop rate is silly since it doesn't exist yet. No one knows what the drop rate would be like.

You can't divorce words from their context. It's harder and takes more skill than spamming plentiful crafting orbs in a SFL. The droprates of those orbs would have to be significantly increased or what is the point, really. Otherwise, just put a checkbox for self found at character creation and be done with it.
Hi

SFL+1

SFL:1)No trades with other players.2)No mf rolls on blue or yellow items.3)Increased orb drop rates.4)No party benefits, No loot allocation timer(what drops for you is yours alone).5)New orbs, more recipes.

Number 5 can be considered in general not specifically for SFL but I think its best if GGG try new orbs and recipes in a separate league,ie:SFL, before adding to standard.

I don't know why anyone uses the word skill when talking about this game. Virtually nothing in this game really takes any skill. Trading is trading, it doesn't matter how hard or difficult it is for people because many of us don't consider it playing the game, just like how people in D3 just sat and played the auction house all day. We left that stupid game and came here because trading should never be the star of the game.

Again, no one knows what the drop rate would be. Just because it would be more than the current leagues doesn't mean it would be enough to make up for not having the trading krutch people currently lean on.

Craftng > Trading. One of these feels more like playing the game than the other and it has nothing to do with "skill".

SFL would really revive this game for me.

Playing around with builds is one of the most important parts of an ARPG.

So, according to you, because I don't trade I can't experiment with builds.

None of these address the issue.

I never said these options addressed the requirements for SFL. I'm simply pointing out that there is more than one idea on the table.
my solution for selffound league :
maybe you could give a character who was never in a party a "so called" title , self found exile or smth like that - so he can still run in normal leagues and has this title next to the name on ladder

It is not a problem that you can't instantly get what you want, thats the beauty of it. People like to FIND their gear. If they don't want to wait to find it then they can play standard.
You can enjoy the game in precisely this way right now. Do you really need a hard block on trading to resist the impulse?[/quote]

It has nothing to do with resisting temptation, but you already know that!

You say that now. But when a cool diamond unique is released, and you want it on your self-found character, good luck with that.

You're still missing the point.
