Quite. So please stop trying to use it as an argument.

To make things clear, I'm talking about build-enabling uniques. If chance orb drop rate isn't increased in SFL, then a lot of interesting builds will be locked off for players. If chance orb drop rate is increased, then the best builds may become common sight.
I've read the orb of chance thread too. Perhaps if SFL were raining these orbs and the perhaps RNG were to favour me, I might get something usable, once in a while. That's a long long way from buying my progression.

Here's a hard core' league for you:
1. Self-found only
2. No party bonus/Permanent allocation
3. Death is death with loss of all items.
4. Remove Alt+F4

Like it or not, it's not something you can ignore. GGG will have to spend time on this, and it could be time better spent elsewhere.

I'm not aware of any orb of chance thread. Anyway, it's a lose-lose situation. You either don't get enough chance orb drops for your planned build, or get enough and are encouraged to roll for the most powerful uniques.

This would be where all my toons live, even with desync issues.

Actually, I can ignore it quite easily. I have faith in GGG. This only becomes an issue when the subject of SFL is raised.

Perhaps you should look it up. If I remember, it's in the beta general thread. However, this really has little to do with SFL.

Alright, it's not something you should ignore. Development time is a factor in any suggestion.

Like I said, not being able to obtain build-enabling uniques is a major issue in SFL. How do you propose to address this with a simple fix? The only answer I heard is increased chance orb drop-rates, which as I already mentioned has serious flaws.

That assumes one actually needs a 'build enabling unique' to play and gain enjoyment from the game. That's where traders differ from self-found. Traders plan what they want and buy what they need. Self-found players use what they find and craft.

Increased drop rates of orbs, no change to orbs, increased monster density and inherent MF are others. There are many ideas and they really do need to be formalised. However, until we here about the issues Chris has, it's difficult trying to proceed.

Playing around with builds is one of the most important parts of an ARPG.

None of these address the issue.
