This. If people wanna play self found there is no reason to compare yourself to others on a ladder that makes only sense if you're trading.
I think races fill that role. They are short enough to not promote trading and long enough to climb up the ladder with SF gear.

I don't understand why you care if there is a league or not. Why you are against player choice doesn't make sense to me. While I wish GGG would make a dedicated league, once the custom leagues come out it will be 5 seconds before one is created.
So it's pretty irrelevant either way. It would have just been nice if GGG listened to an extremely large portion of the player base asking for SFL.

It's not an extremely large portion of the player base. Did you see when people wanted loot allocation? That was a large portion, and you could easily tell from all the posts.
These SFL-threads are probably 50% bumping and people don't even agree on how the SFL should work. Some wants to be able to play in parties some don't etc. So GGG should actually make several different SFL leagues to satisfy this bunch of people.

There is no way to know the actual number of players wanting SFL, so I was intentionally vague. My guess it's in the many thousands, but we will find out eventually.
Edit: As a side note all I was saying was I am disappointed that GGG didn't create a league. Once the custom leagues are out, we will have a place to play.
