Are there Informations if the Devs themself ever played their own game self-found? I really would like to know this. ^^ I play PoE "Singel Player" and it's also fun but to be honest also very hard, even in Standard League. I'm a little bit jealous when I see how much more easy the game is when you play in groups and do high level maps or you can spent tons of currency to improve an Item. None of that is possible with your limited self-found "budget". Ok, I also can run maps and it's easy with my Summoner but it's just not worth it. And for group play, the Performance of PoE is still just horrible and as long as this is not solved, I keep playing alone. |

Granted, I think these posters could, at the very least, make some small effort to bolster their argument with these posts as opposed to popping in to say "I know you've read this but I'm going to keep shoving it in your face", but these guys aren't breaking any forum rules. |

I thought the point of a self found league was to have increased drop rates (items and currency) much like the descent races. Yes, you could play standard as a self found league and invest much more time in it. It wouldn't be very fun, because you would just hit a wall earlier and grind like it's a JRPG.
You could also take the standard league and increase the drop rates, but that would just devalue the existing items and flood the economy. Seems like a bad solution since people who trade will already be fine, but I'm fine with it. Sorry if that point wasn't mentioned well enough earlier Qarl, but that's why there's an outcry for self found. You mention the wall of 4-link and I doubt that's what most people see as the issue, but it's the right concept of why self found doesn't work well in standard. Maybe 6L is about impossible, but not 4L. People playing self found would have to invest MUCH more time than when trading, which upsets the flow of the game. A self found league would counter that to elevate the item flow and progression. Challenge = good Grinding = bad |
