Official Blender Post! Lets theory craft for 1.2! 123k Cleave DPS!

Im leveling myself too, about your level range and had no real problem running through merciless with 1000 armor and 1800 Life - besides painfull chaos damage (i hate you weaver!)

Are your resis at least maxed out (75% all expect chaos) if not - run purity aura! I only run purity/hatred to level 60.
Spoiler
cheap and usefull for resists.

Archers are painfull too but armor flasks helps a lot.

resists are a problem to me. im still pretty new to the game, hence i haven't been able to trade much. any other tips in reaching a good resist level? i think i'll try to get that helm u recommended :D

my hp is only about 900 >.<

hows your gear like? i think i need to revamp my gear a little before i can continue. are you running multistrike too?
i bought a multistrike at around level 50. But the gem is expensive .... and the build works quite well without it too. Curent setup:
Spoiler

A 5 link in that "quality" should be fairly cheap, but better use a good 4L with life and res i guess, i didnt have one....

purity gives about ~20% all res + 2 diamond skins 24% - maybe grab some of those +15% X res nodes at maraudar too? the helm isnt perfect because of non life bonus! but 36% res all is great.

900 HP is bloody low :( try to get some +life items. Hows your life/mana leech?
Spoiler
two cheap items that solve leech, again: no life not perfect!

Gear wise i did most of my leveling to level 55 with blue %phys dam weapons i crafted or found, nothing great but things like:
Spoiler
(you can have this for free btw. if you need it, sold some others to vendor after some levels :( )

Disc: no expert on this build just leveling in poor mans style too ;)

resits are almost mandatory in Cruel/Merciless difficulty, since every other mob has some fire/cold/lightning mod on them. Others have additional physical dmg or chaos. Get your basis resists maxed out. Some tips as follows:

-Rings: Get Cold/Ruby/Topaz rings, and looks for additional +30% resists on them. You can forgo some life and damage from here, as rings are easy as 123 to get big resists.

-Boots: There are cheap boots out there without life and movespeed that are affordable. You should not pay anything more than 1~2chaos for a pair of boots with dual +30% resists.

-Passives: Invest some points into Diamond skin. There is one at the bottom of the Duelist and another at Marauder. There are additional fire/cold/light resist passive that are at Duelist section.

-Life: try to branch into the Marauder section early to get more hp nodes. They are extremely important. Alternatively, always get the best Life Flask available to your level. Check out the wiki on this.

-Shield: use an average shield to boost ur maximum life and resists to a higher level. You can sacrifice some damage if you feel that you are dying frequently.

-Leveling UP: I do not suggest exploring the map areas if you are not within the monster level. e.g. if a map is level 48, you have to be at least 48 in order to be efficient with killing or gaining exp. Also, you can choose to grind in maps such as Ledge/Fellshrine/Sarn so that you are more comfortable with your level and hp before completing quests.

Good Luck! :)

Im Kind of poor so i cant afford all gems with 20% Quality. Which one is Quality most important?

€dit: and i love this build ! It Looks so cool to Smash through things and it does fantastic damage too ....

Cleave and Multistrike are most important, dont rly need quality on anything else tbh

in my opinion, Cleave 20% is the only required gem. Multistrike 20% is rare and it costs more. Cleave 20% may be worth an exalt here or there, but the attack speed is worth it, if you can attack fast and kite monster damage once the atk animation is over.

@return33

thanks alot for sharing! i manage to get my resist up and i got more life nodes with my refund points. now im running 50+ resist on average without purity :D going through a1 without much problem now. HP is still at 1200 but doing quite ok!
I'm new and trying this build. I'm level 21. I find it hard following your tree where to go first...I did leather and steel..........dervish...water dancer.............after this.....what nod should I go first which would be important? thanks for the help!

Does the BoR "gain endu charge on block" work with dual wield? Cant see me getting charges with ~40% block

€dti: okay it works .... 10% of 40% = not very often ;)

based on my experience, try to go for more life nodes along your way. you probably will faceroll the acts till late cruel where resistance becomes much more important.

Taken from the main post, the order which x2p has posted is relevant for your progression as you are a new player. Nodes such as Iron reflex and Resolute technique are both important. In addition, the ranger area nodes should be taken last as they only provide damage and little defensive purposes.

Key Passive Areas/Nodes

Spoiler
Iron Reflexes - One of the Most important nodes. It converts your evasion to armor. This build does not require any evasion as you get 75% chance to evade thanks to blind. I suggest having this by A2 Cruel.

Dervish - Amazing skill that gives tons of block + attack speed. Go for this early.

Leather & Steel - Evasion buff gives you extra armor. The "Ignore Movement Penalty" is very useful, especially early on prior to having whirling blades to move around.

Unwavering Stance - If you do not have Bringer of Rain, this passive is a must! It is not included in any of my builds as they are all based around Bringer of Rain. The reason I do not use this with BoR is that it completely nullifies the 75% dodge chance you get from blind. If you don't use blind, you should pick this up to prevent stuns.

Blood Drinker - Eventually the 2% LL is enough to reach cap when your damage is high enough.

Elemental Adaption - 2% may not seem like much for max resists, but combined with Purity you can reach 81 all resists.

Resolute Technique - An absolute must, you should get this around mid 60s to 70. It will greatly increase your DPS. This build has no crit and finding swords with crit and good DPS is insanely expensive. The build also has low accuracy. Resolute technique addresses the accuracy issue without sacrificing much.

Marauder Resist Area - The Diamond Skin node by the marauder tree is great to utilize until you get the right gear. It allows you to easily adjust your resists based on your gear. It is also next to some nice crit damage reduction nodes.

I personally took this passives when i am level50~

and more hp at the marauder/ranger area if you have problems surviving.

Once you get to cruel, try your best to cap out resists at 75%. It will greatly reduce the need to get more hp as elemental damage you receive is reduced by 75%.
