Thanks :) I will look around a bit more today but atm I can't find much answers around it, although I'm bad at searching :P
Sorry i missed out to write "early 2011"
2,2 Ghz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
I took the "v.37 stable" downloaded it, unpacked it and then started the game.
I got this exact same problem on my VMware Fusion (Windows in mac) where i lagg every 3-4 second and every time in the starting area when there comes an lightning. Since i got this on problem on my both this mac version and the real version it must be something wrong with my computer. I thought it was the RAM because it almost got to 0 but now i got a lot of RAM but it still lagg :/ is there a way to turn down the graphics in a sort of command/config? The game seems to decide the graphic on its own if it feel that i have a good graphic card, because my Windows xp computer got way worse graphic and therefor can handle the game. Im not talking about "turn off shadows" and that stuff :)
You have exactly same macbook as I sir. Anyway, Lags will be fixed by devs. A lot of Windows users are angry with that too... (maybe I will begin to count how many times I wrote that)

Okey :) well with my lagg it is not playable, the same for you? What i can read from others i get the feeling that they lag from time to time but for me it comes like every 4 second when I'm just walking and not meeting any mobs.
Well I hope its the game and not my computer so that it gets fixed :P
Thanks for the answer

I have done everything according to both the FAQ and the instructions but for some reason I keep receive the "Game will fail to load with D3ERR_INVALIDCALL" error. I have done the troubleshoot step on this in which i click check on the glsl and run, when i click run and it finishes i receive an error talking about permission errors. I have even tried to simply drag it to the desktop to no avail and re-install only to receive the same error again. i have tried all versions and so far 4.0 seems to be the most promising but i still receive the same error "Game will fail to load with D3ERR_INVALIDCALL". Help?

Which Mac do you have?
See Top left corner on Menubar (Apple logo) -> About This Mac -> More Info...
Please state you OS version and GPU at least.

you should post in the first topic that the installer will download the game automatically.
otherwise works fine so far - thank you very much!
maybe this could be used as the official installer for the game?!

great job on the Mac port.
i have tried it on my bootcamp windows 7: everything is on high 2560x1440, shadows, 16x aniblablablasomething, runs smooth
mac, 2560x1440, medi graphical settings and it runs slow, glitchy.
love the fact that you are working hard on the unofficial port for PoE but i really wish GGG would get an official port out ASAP.
i can't play the game in the condition this port is in. it's far superior to the port you had in the CB (early 2012) but it still has issues... if i can do anything to help the porting, e.g. bug reporting patch testing etc. i'll do that from time to time, but my main focus will be playing the game on my windows partion though it overheats my mac due to lack of fan control.

The port is maybe superior, but the game is not. Since open beta, they introduced many new features, and many new bugs... For examle.. for example, the stuttering wasn't that bad, and there was no problem playing together with other players...
Also, wine will never be as fast, as running it natively on windows.
