Hello Julus, and thanks very much for all your effort on the wrapper.
I've been playing with v3.6 on my Mac Pro running 10.8.2 without any major issues. Today I downloaded 4.0.1 and copied over the game contents from my 3.6 wrapper. 4.0.1 launches, patches itself, and then just hangs - it never opens the main game window. I restarted but to no effect.
I just relaunched 3.6 and it's working fine, so I'll stick with that one for now.

Hmm, there is absolutely nothing in logs that suggest an error... (BTW: I hope you copied just grinding gear games directory, and nothing else...), try to reboot your mac. (there might be a lock from the old wrapper which prevents new to launch successfully, reboot will clean it)
umm sorta weird i just restarted and open the game and all my setting were back to defaults and also it now says my adapter is my 9600GT when befor said something else
Are you sure you started the same wrapper? Also, sometimes happens that launching game will fail to load your configuration on 3.7 and older (I did not encountered it on 4.0) . Quiting the game and relaunching without editing options should load old settings.
Hey Julus. I downloadd 4.0.1 today, and ran it. It downloaded great, and I was able to log in. Game play seemed a bit better, even the FPS slowdown from before, although not gone completely, seemed to have improved. I decided to restart my mac after reading through the forum.
After restarting I tried to open Path Of Exile and nothing happens. it seems like it is opening, as in, I can select in from the top left next to the apple, but the game itself doesn't appear anywhere.
Ive tried "Bring all to front" and tried cycle through windows. Even Command tabbing to PoE brings up nothing.
Thank you for the great wrapper! It is, by far, the best way I've found to run PoE on a mac!
I'm on an rMBP and getting great performance with all the versions of the wrapper I've tried, but PoE is freezing every 30-60 minutes for me, and I need to quit it and restart to get it to respond. Is there any sort of debug output I can get that would be useful to you to hunt this down?
In the 1st post, there is guide how to get logs, please post me the logs, and I can take look on it.
It took a while to freeze, so my LastRunWine.log is too long to post in its entirety. The last several lines are

I copied only Content.ggpk from the old wrapper to the same place in the new wrapper.
Looking at the new wrapper again just now, it looks like Content.ggpk had somehow vanished(?), so I just copied the entire PoE directory, which contained Content.ggpk, from the old wrapper and overwrote everything in that directory in the new wrapper. I rebooted and it looks like 4.0.1 is working now. Thanks!

Thanks again, and let me know if I can do anything to help!
Hmm. This was freeze literally... nothing in log, just sudden stop... I can only guess what happened. Try to bring the graphics setting to lowest possible (disable post-procesing, no shadows, medium textures), and see if it is any better. According to devs, game tends to crash/freeze on 32-bit windows (and wine is emulating 32-bit windows).

Btw I'm using a Mid 2012 MBP with Mac OS X 10.7.5
Thanks for the help in advance.
In 4.0.1, two icons should open. One Path OF Exile (which is initiator in this case) and one PoE text icon (the game itself). If it fails on the 1st one, just kill it (right click it, hold alt/option key, force quit) and try relaunch (or right click wrapper>show contents>launch wineskin>advanced>tools>kill all wineskin processes>confirm, close wineskin and relaunch). Also try to look into logs, if there is anything.
I got this problem with freeze lag. I have tried searching for others with the same problem but i can find any answers.
I have an early Macbook pro 15" and I have recently upgraded my memory from 4gb to 8gb
This lagging occurs all the time, every maybe 3-4 second. When looking at the F1 stats i have:
15-20 Frame time (ms)
Around 60 FPS but like every 4 second or something it drops to 0 and then up again
Latency (ms) Around 50
Im not very good at computers and don't know if this is good stats to have (except the drop). Is there anybody else that have this freeze lag?
The thing is i have good graphics, windowed my screen to half the computer screen and it runs smooth between the FPS drops. But i really can't figure this out, even my like 7 years old windows can manage the game.
I can play other games really well without lag so there must be something I'm doing wrong here or something i can change in the config. I was thinking about maybe i could change the config to have the same graphic card as my other computer to trick it and give me worse graphic without fps drop but i don't wanna mess up so ill wait :P
Please help me figure this out so i can play on my mac :)
Thanks!
Hello and welcome Nickeman.
Freeze and lag can be game-related issues, not always caused by Wine. There are many people who have reported those issues, surely you find them if you look around a bit more.
You stated an "early MBPro". What version exactly, it doesn't sound very early if it can support 8GB of RAM.
Which wrapper are you using? Try different wrappers too, look a few pages back or check the FAQ how to change wrappers. Basically you need to download a new wrapper and copy Content.ggpk to new wrapper, then launch.
Thanks :) I will look around a bit more today but atm I can't find much answers around it, although I'm bad at searching :P
Sorry i missed out to write "early 2011"
2,2 Ghz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
I took the "v.37 stable" downloaded it, unpacked it and then started the game.
I got this exact same problem on my VMware Fusion (Windows in mac) where i lagg every 3-4 second and every time in the starting area when there comes an lightning. Since i got this on problem on my both this mac version and the real version it must be something wrong with my computer. I thought it was the RAM because it almost got to 0 but now i got a lot of RAM but it still lagg :/ is there a way to turn down the graphics in a sort of command/config? The game seems to decide the graphic on its own if it feel that i have a good graphic card, because my Windows xp computer got way worse graphic and therefor can handle the game. Im not talking about "turn off shadows" and that stuff :)
