That's a unibody MBP right, would it support more RAM than 4GB?
Had 2GB before, made it 4GB for now, since I expected it to be enough. But unfortunately it has barely made any difference.
So, yeah, I COULD upgrade it even higher but since it's quite costly and doesn't seem to cure the problem I really would apply this as the last possible solution.

Have you opted for an SSD?
Nope. What's that? xD
Regarding ping: Totally related to the low fps.
@Julus: Thanks so far for the answers, rebooted mac, rebooted game on 3.6 (still hoped it would work), no change. Ok, it's 7-14 fps at least :D
Loading 4.01 atm, hope that one will help more.

That ping was most likely caused by low FPS. Also, the mac sometimes lock the game so it will run 3-6 fps, restart is currently known solution.
I'm so used to not having to restart a Mac that I don't always even think about it :)
Mine runs sometimes up to two months without rebooting. Just put to sleep when not used or if I go away for 4 or more days then shut down.
I know, but hey. You are running windows games, and that comes with price - suffering from reboots :)
I couldn't have put it better :)
I'm downloading 4.0.1 now and will test it soon - seems you got rid of 4.0....

Yes, the more memory the more it costs, no denying that.
SSD - a Solid-state drive. I don't usually use abbreviations, but slipped there :) But seriously, if you ever plan to upgrade your MBPro, then a solid-state drive in my opinion would be the first step, in case you have not done so already.
Hopefully 4.0.1 makes a difference for you.

Hrm, ok, got that. Which drive do I have at the moment then? x)
If I may wonder: The graphic card or its drivers could not possibly be the reason for the low fps, could they?
Do you guys perhaps have any graphic related tipps I could apply anyway? ^^
Thanks for help so far!

Your rig is very weak, it's not going to run great. Turn off shadows, lower quality, and run it in fullscreen and you should get 15-30 FPS most likely. Your graphics card and CPU are probably the biggest things choking your performance.

Alright, thanks. Actually that was quite what I expected to be the most crucial problem either.
The question is... is it worth improving, is it even possible or could there be some other steps worth trying before investing money?^^

are there any solutions?
my macbook pro:
OS: 10.6.8
display card: Nvidia GeForce 9400M
ram: 2 GB
Quite possibly corrupted content.ggpk file. Easiest way is to reinstall.
This also affects windows users a lot, so GGG to blame ;)
ok, thanks, problem solved
I have another question that, is it possible to apply the error checking .exe file in mac so that mac users wouldnt need to reinstall the game again? (just curious)

The best way is to backup the content.ggpk file.

4.0.1 should have better performance when running fullscreen (not "windowed fullscreen"), you can try that.

4.0.1 has just fancy dmg file and fixed engine to run on older OSX... on 10.8.2 it will behave exactly the same as 4.0

Version 4 is working really well so far. There tends to be some lag when you start the game, but it goes away after 5 minutes or so..
Tested on:
iMac 2011
Core i5 2.7GHz
Radeon 6770M
4GB Memory
Thanks for the port, I'm really enjoying the game!
