Hi guys,

just a reminder to keep posts friendly and on-topic - discussing the OP's build is fine but for all other topics please keep this to relevant threads. Please also don't derail this thread with personal arguments.

Nice thread. Build looks clean. Trying this as it is totally different to anything I've played before and I'm not liking having to spend multiple ex for BiS items on my other characters.

Kitted out my witch with low level uniques as per your suggestions.

I did make a few changes, though - I went for RoA rather than Split Arrow and I am using a Silverbranch instead of a Quill Rain. The +1 gems and mana on death is nice, plus it is higher DPS.

I am leveling according to the 'core build' - minion and int nodes primarily. I am hoping to overcome hp/dps problems with gear which can be later re-sold, rather than skill points which cannot.

Using this approach, when can I expect to transition to relying on my minions more heavily for main DPS, given that I will be using summoner specific passives (& gear when the time comes)?

I realise that lots of people are saying summoners are rubbish at low levels - is that really true if you are properly min/maxed for it? Seems very broken if that is the case...

Nevertheless I shall continue to level in this fashion and report back with my progress :-D
Actually I hadn't thought about before, but you can get global +1 level on your bows (or any 2h weapon), which is really nice for Raise Zombie, allowing it 6L with a little bit of that minion helm feel...

Crap, I'm gonna need a lot of Chromatics.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

The way i leveled was farm EXP public parties, it goes a lot faster.
Your minion DPS/defense, aside from the skill tree passives you can get from your minions and those few uniques, comes straight from your gem levels and gem quality.

So I can't really tell you what level your character needs to be, only for the gems.

No rare item will add anything to your minions unless is a gem skill point.
This might sound bad but is actually is not.
It means you can stuck more ES, iir/iiq and res with out worrying about DPS stats like for example a dual totem spark would.

Basically the most useful is +2 minions helmet, which is a nice perk but not needed.
If it happens you have a +1 all gems rare weapon you should put your curses there.

Specially the raise zombie gem has a big difference, a level 19 gem is far weaker than a level 20 gem.
A level 20 raise zombie will also add 32F/64C/32L resistance which is just huge.

While leveling I consider the sidhebreath amulet and bones of ullr boots a must to have since they are dirt cheap. Midnight Bargain was is expensive and you loose 30% life.
Remove them only when you are ready to switch to higher IIR/IIQ.

When you get to merciless act 3, try to get rushed to docks lunaris temple 2/3 and farm them like crazy. There is no chaos damage in those areas so you can still be life based.

Also Lunaris 3 is a level 68 area, lots of nice things dropped there :D including maps.
You can start farming there at level 66~ if your life/es and res are decent.

Emm, I wouldn't go out of my way to burn a lot of orbs on an item that is pure for leveling :).
Also bows are kinda hard to get the right colors on them so keep that in mind.

Didn't you sold me something 2 days ago? I think it was an amulet :).

First time I ever got this :D

I still have a ways to go before my MF numbers are actually impressive, but little things like this do help to keep the motivation up.

I basically never post, but for once I feel like I must reply to this thread/post.

First, kudos and BIG thanks to Rathik for his build. Fun and efficient, even for a casual enthousiast like me.
I always liked summoner builds, this one is great.

Using this build "efficiently" for my witch for now 2-3 weeks, I'm still far from the point when I'll be able to afford an andvarius, but still, dropped 3 coward's trial and 1 maelstrom unique maps.
Additional, higher level, maps are flowing, XP is progressing.
Uniques are dropping here and there. (nothing completely exceptional as of yet, since still limited at maps ~68-70, and 31IIQ/137IIR... but still... many ullr, goldwyrms, aurseizes, one abyssus, etc...)

Definitely fun for me, and as GoatEatingToilet says,

So once again and despite haters, thx Rathik. =D
GREAT THREAD. I'm a lowlife/RF witch currently, but this build definitely perks my interest- I think I know what I'm doing with my lvl80 EK witch that has a full reset still laying around :D

TONS of great information in this thread, and any build that is capable of end game mapping, is affordable, is FUN, AND helps everybody do what they want most, which is FIND MORE LOOT! is GREAT for the game.

thanks for this ...and may the odds forever be in your favor!

Great build guide but I'm curious about zombie damage output. My zombie gem is 16 right now and the tooltip says it does 10% more damage and I looked at a level 20 zombie gem and the tooltip says it does 26% more damage. Is there a significant difference between a level 16 gem and level 20 gem besides the 16% more damage? I feel like my zombies don't do that much damage currently but there's really no way to increase this damage?

Linked it with multi-strike, melee-splash, faster attack, and IIQ
