I still have a ways to go before my MF numbers are actually impressive, but little things like this do help to keep the motivation up.

Gratz on the find man. If you are planning to run it and not sell it, don't run it solo.
You can easily charge 2-3 chaos fee for a spot in the run.

I basically never post, but for once I feel like I must reply to this thread/post.

First, kudos and BIG thanks to Rathik for his build. Fun and efficient, even for a casual enthousiast like me.
I always liked summoner builds, this one is great.

Using this build "efficiently" for my witch for now 2-3 weeks, I'm still far from the point when I'll be able to afford an andvarius, but still, dropped 3 coward's trial and 1 maelstrom unique maps.
Additional, higher level, maps are flowing, XP is progressing.
Uniques are dropping here and there. (nothing completely exceptional as of yet, since still limited at maps ~68-70, and 31IIQ/137IIR... but still... many ullr, goldwyrms, aurseizes, one abyssus, etc...)

Definitely fun for me, and as GoatEatingToilet says,

GREAT THREAD. I'm a lowlife/RF witch currently, but this build definitely perks my interest- I think I know what I'm doing with my lvl80 EK witch that has a full reset still laying around :D

TONS of great information in this thread, and any build that is capable of end game mapping, is affordable, is FUN, AND helps everybody do what they want most, which is FIND MORE LOOT! is GREAT for the game.

thanks for this ...and may the odds forever be in your favor!

Great build guide but I'm curious about zombie damage output. My zombie gem is 16 right now and the tooltip says it does 10% more damage and I looked at a level 20 zombie gem and the tooltip says it does 26% more damage. Is there a significant difference between a level 16 gem and level 20 gem besides the 16% more damage? I feel like my zombies don't do that much damage currently but there's really no way to increase this damage?

Linked it with multi-strike, melee-splash, faster attack, and IIQ

Yes, there is big difference because is more damage, and not flat damage.
And don't forget the additional resistance the zombies will get.

More damage is like pain attunement that gives more spell damage.
Also multistrike its more melee speed.
Its multiplicative and not additive.

I am not gonna write a formula because I suck in maths but the exact information and formula is on the forums if you want to take a more detail look at it.

Since the only way to boost minion damage is from skills and few uniques its very important to aim for 20/20 gems if you want to maximize your damage.

With the new recipe is not that hard to get 20% gems. It just takes more time.

It is a good idea to level an additional set of gems on your switch slot.
Raise zombie, melee splash, multistrike, faster attack, culling strike.

So when your first set hit level 20, use the recipe to make them level 1 20% quality and start using your second set until the 20% gems get some levels.

You should always level gems in your switch slot, if you notice the reaper's pursuit axe that I am using under my gear section has gem that are irrelevant to the build.

20% quality gems sell for 1-1.5 exalted, so gem leveling is a slow but steady source of income.

Hope this was helpful :).

Regards

Awesome guide, and great party running. Thanks for this :)

Quick update, I'm levelling as a pure summoner - I've taken 1 dex, 1 str and 3 hp nodes but otherwise I am sticking to the 'core' build.

I was using bow and my minions for support DPS up until level 22 when I could use Bones of Ullr boots - then went pure summoner gear and Aurumvorax for resists. I still have a Double Strike gem though just for extra DPS on bosses (does more DPS than Arc).

I'm level 43 now. Minions are getting stronger all the time - I have the maximum of 9 zombies at the moment, plus two Spectres. I have 4L - Zombie/Damage/HP/M.Splash and 3L - Spectre/HP/M.Splash in my Shield.

Survivability of minions is the main problem, but Discipline (Energy Shield) aura helps a lot, as do animation health pots (heals minions). I also run Hatred for extra DPS and CC. Generally I'll use Vulnerability curse for DPS boost, Enfeeble occasionally on bosses.

Normal was basically a faceroll, Piety was a joke, as was Merveil cruel. Here's some before and after screenshots of killing "The Great White Beast" in Act 2 cruel (I am level 43, it's a 42 area).

Spoiler

Very fast kill, all minions intact and not much change in HP

DPS can be slow sometimes but I am waiting until level 50-ish when I respec CI to get a 5L chest.

Anyone worried about levelling a summoner shouldn't be, but having "twink" gear ready right at the start helps a lot. The summoner specific stuff (Sidhebreath, boots mentioned earlier, Matua Tapuna shield etc) I bought with orbs found while levelling, so it is realistic for newer players.

Thanks again for this build - I'll let you know when I start Merciless!

Here's my gear

Thx Rathik for the build, I think I'm gonna give it a try.

The trick is, I'll do it on onslaught.

Any tips? Would you modify the build in any way for an onslaught toon?

Cheers :)

Good stuff. The str dex are not really part of the build. You just take them according to your needs.

For the new player part.
I couldn't agree more.

I never actually played onslaught so I am not experienced with it.

You can level as a normal spell caster then respec.
Or you can grab resistance and more health/es nodes before you get all your minion nodes.

Temporal Chains + Enfeeble are really strong for survival.

For the end build I wouldn't change anything.

Currently I have 7919ES, 70/75/75 resistance with out purity aura and enough STR/DEX to support haste and multistrike gem.

Apart from the perandus belt, I have no STR/DEX stats on my items (I wish my rings had some though).

If you want you can save some skill points by running lower level haste aura and use those 3-4 skill points on ES.

So 8k ES and 79 all res with purity I think is enough for onslaught.

You can also spend 3 skill points and take Zealot`s Oath and the 1% life regen from templar and run Vitality aura. That would add some extra survival.

I think your biggest problem might be the leveling if you want to go as pure summoner.

IMO you should find the safest witch way to level then just respec.
Make sure you are leveling needed gems though.
