[0.11.2] Lightning Arrow Duelist - 1.0.0 updated!
" Re-arranged points several times, and it seems they all come out pretty similar - a few options that you have though: If you are ok with ditching Unwavering stance, you can free up a few points by going a different route and getting either more DPS or health. Or, if you want more health/survivability, you can ditch that accuracy/crit chance/physical damage cluster between duelist and ranger for more life/evasion rating. Other then that though, it looks pretty solid. If you are running 2+ auras, I would grab that Holy Strength node past templar though, for your next couple of points. Not only gives you a little boost in your auras but also 20 str for Iron Grip + more hp. Mess with the best, die like the rest.

" YES :-) " You're welcome. I couldn't decide on own my build yet. I have multiple Shadow and Ranger variants incl one that is pure Evasion (I would use Darkray Vectors to get Dodge up to 56%) but somehow I'm not happy with a single one of them... Last edited by fae76 on Nov 1, 2013, 5:32:22 PM

" I've leveled a ranger and shadow LA before - if you want me to look at your trees, just post them here :) I would highly recommend against evasion builds - unless you're SUPER careful, carry extra granite flasks with you, and take ondar's guile. Still then, it's really risky for HC. Mess with the best, die like the rest. Last edited by Edzilla on Nov 1, 2013, 5:58:08 PM

" Will be the first time for me. Thank you for your offer, I actually might once I'm satisfied with what I've got :-) " I'm kind of fixed on a pure EV build now because I want to try an unusual build. You're a little bit too late with your recommendation ;-) I've played around with EV quite a bit. One of my most reliant toons is a Double-Strike Ranger. I didn't spec into Acrobatics though. With Enfeeble and Blind I never had issues. Beside Decoy Totem I used Granites to tank phy based mobs and of course Whirling Blades and well timed Immortal Call's to overcome the big hits of bosses. This time I'd like to go the Acrobatics route. My approach to phy mitigation is Enfeeble, Endurance Charges and the unique chest Lighting Coil. Let's assume a 10k phy hit. After Enfeeble's 34% or 3400 damage reduction 6600 remain. Thereof 12% or 792 is mitigated by 3 Endurance Charges. 40% or 2640 of those 6600 are converted to lightning whereof 75% lightning resistance mitigates another 1980. What remains is 10000 - 3400 - 792 - 1980 = 3828. This is 61% mitigation. Best of all there is no armor formula involved so it will always be 61% independent of how hard the hit actually is. I would say that is a pretty awesome mitigation for a pure evasion toon. Of course phy damage can now shock but this can be partially countered with Avoid Shock nodes, dispelled with Flasks or fully countered with more uniques. With q20 Enfeeble + 56% Dodge (40+8x2 from Darkray Vectors) + 30% Spell Dodge + Blind + 55% shock avoidance + 200% inc life + 50% Evasion I should have pretty good defenses and survivability. I also plan to use Decoy/Skeli Totem linked to Cast when Damage taken. Darkray Vectors counter the -40% Lightning resists from Lightning Coil and Lightning Coils gives additional lightning damage. Getting enough INT for that most important lvl20 Enfeeble is what is worrying me the most right now. In the end I have no clue if this is going to work at all. It doesn't matter, it's a softcore experiment. Most importantly it's a fun project. Of course i will try to stay alive as long as possible. Just because it's an experiment on softcore doesn't mean that I'm not ambitious with it ;-) edited: corrected Spell Block to Spell Dodge Last edited by fae76 on Nov 2, 2013, 7:02:28 AM

" Yeah, i've seen the Lightning Coil in action - that Incinerate, mana shield, lightning coil tank build looks pretty insane. GL with your build :) Mess with the best, die like the rest.

" BM gem with auras will give you more dps - without a doubt. It just takes a 6L to be able to use BM gem efficiently, so you can / are suggested to use the keystone until then. Mess with the best, die like the rest. Last edited by Edzilla on Nov 2, 2013, 8:36:26 AM

Finally :-) This is what I am going for:
- 50 Points - 75 Points - 101 Points - 115 Points - Boots (Darkray Vectors): CwDmgTaken + DecoyTotem + EndCry + SumSkele - Gloves (hopefully Thunderfists drop soon): RedMana + Wrath + Grace + Purity - Helmet: Enfeeble + IncAoE + BM; Portal - Chest (Lightning Coil): Frenzy + BM + LifeLeech + WED + Blind + AddLight - Bow (Voltaxic Rift): LA + LMP + LoH + BM + WED + Chain - Bow (Quill Rain as weapon swap): Frenzy + LMP + BM + LoH + Blind + Chain This will build up Frenzy charges in a second and hopefully blind everything. This is extremely dangerous against Lightning Thorns. To overcome this I will try to pop a Topaz Flask before shooting (at least where necessary in a3 and of course in maps). Of course I will only be able to run 2 auras. I will swap between them as required Bandits: Life, Skill Point, Frenzy Charge Leveling will be pretty hard without the BM keystone. I simply hope my leveling gear is OP enough up to merci Ledge or Fellshrine to help minimize the issue. Otherwise I will have to join public parties or go for it and respec later. I have a some questions.
Can i use elemental hit instead of frenzy for single target dmg? and can someone explain to me why chain is good on la. Last edited by ApeSkunk on Nov 2, 2013, 2:17:12 PM

" A Perandus Signet + Wurm's Molt + Atziri's Foible along with Primal Spirit will solves all your mana issues while leveling... if you can afford them :) Not really an option for me, being in the nemesis league and dead-broke! but... it works until you can get your BM gem setup, or want to run a leveled Clarity with more mana-regen passives. Perhaps get Mana Geyser? Between ranger and shadow? Trees look good, im just curious why you go to troll's blood? Do you need the resists? Spend the same amount of points to get to sentinel for resists+mitigation and be next to a much larger life cluster then connected to troll's blood - and pick up 60% mana regen on the way, if need be. 101 points. You lose the frenzy charge in your main build, but have access to a boat-load of more HP nodes, more mana regen, and more WED if you want. Mess with the best, die like the rest.
