Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

Having alot of problems keeping my resistances up. I'm currently level 40 in cruel with highest resistance at 25, and lowest at -5. Dps on LA at 277. Should I gimp my damage for more resistance (because getting both seems to be impossible on gear for me at the momemt :() and if so, how much?

In my opinion max allres >>>>>>> dmg but im playing this build in HC . Do you play SC ? Then i would try to push res to 40 / 50. Should be working out - in HC maxresis is a must !

Im lvl 61, and im wondering if this bow fits this build ? Im doing elemental dmg ranger.

Should i switch my bow to less phy and more ele dmg bows? Using LA and Ele hit.

Or, what should i be looking for in the bow ? which stats i mean.

The bow you have is sub optimal for several reasons.

First of all you want a faster bow, preferably a thicket or it's lower tier versions. The reason for this is that flat elemental damage from gear and auras will be the same per hit no matter of your attack speed. In reality this menas you want the fastest bow you han get.

With this in mind you want a rare bow that has all three prefixes spent on elemental damage, and one sufix as attack speed. The other two sufixes depends on your spec

The problem is, i did try the thicket bow with 3 ele dmg prefixes , but my dmg of LA is a lot lower than with this current bow.. should i be watching for the dmg or not?

And yes, ill try to find a fast thicket bow with 3x ele dmg and AS.

Was the dps lower with or without anger and wrath active? A common mistake people make is that they compare tooltip dps in town without aura effects, and fast bows benefit more from the two auras i mentioned

May I ask a naive question please?
If LA converts 50% of phys to ele, won't +phys bonuses actually help more than +ele bonuses because the +phys will increase the entire (gross) damage done, which is subsequently converted in part to ele, and not merely the net ele part? In other words, why do you all go for +ele passives instead of +phys passives?

The amount of elemental damage you get from gear and auras which is also added to LA will heavilly outweigh the phys damage on a bow. Its counter intuitive at first if you dont know to look for it. With that said never say no to phys damage, just know it scales worse if you are ele specced

It's kind of a question about what you prefer, I like the skeletons personally. However if you run Ice Spear, don't forget to add LMP or if you can GMP into the link.

I like skels too... but, is this the best combination? +faster casting + minion life?
