Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

Maybe try a Added Fire Damage instead of a Weapon Elemental Damage on the bow?

Hi Petrov and fellows,

Do you think the removal of diamond flask hurts elemental hit so bad since no crit = no Status Ailments (shock, ignite, freeze) for element hit and therefore reduced its potential?

Futon- since Lightning arrow converts 50% of the phys dmg to elemental, I thought that the elemental damage mod on the quiver would apply to the converted damage, no? Other than that, yeah, I'll start looking for better gloves/jewelry.

It's elemental weapon damage. I'm pretty sure since your bow has no elemental damage it won't do anything for you. Also the gem shouldn't do anything for you either. Look at your damage tooltip and see if it adds anything when you put it in and take it out, I bet it doesn't.

Speaking from experience, you're definitely incorrect on this. +Weapon Elemental Damage support linked to Lightning Arrow using Death's Harp drastically increases the DPS of Lightning Arrow; it's what I'm using right now, actually.

E: Taking a quick peek, looks like my somewhat underleveled +Weapon Elemental Damage gem jumps the listed DPS of LA from 200 to 300.

An elemental bow may indeed be better, but DH isn't screwing him quite as much as you're assuming it does.

It seems like the FoTM among rangers is to skip the center WED and Iron Grip and take the path along the south border of the passive tree. I guess this was made popular by Nugiyen due to it's superior survivability, especially when going into the Marauder start.

However I'm playing on scrubcore, since I wanted to get familiar with the game before dying several times in the hardcore league. I'm currently specced like this, which is just a small variation of the same old cookie cutter builds. Most notably I went for Inner Force, which I believe is overlooked by way too many rangers that run the usual Grace, Anger & Wrath aura combo. The DPS increase from it is big.

Anyway, would anyone care to take a look at my tree to see if I can make any small improvements? This is no theoretical tree, but rather how I'm actually specced right now.

Something to note is that I currently have 3x 6% all resist nodes, which I need to max out all my elemental resists at 80%. With better gear those will be placed into more health and/or health regen.

Hi guys, just a few questions:

1 - Should I rush Static Blows before get Resolute Technique?

2 - It is better to have 4L or 5L gear instead of a good rare 1L or 2L?

You need at least one 4L/5L so you can put your LA combo on it. After that i think it is a better idea to get a good 1L/2L rare as your second piece of gear compared to some crappy magic 4L/5L. Personally i'd try to get a 4L/5L on armor and go for the best ele bow i could find for weapon regardless of slots.
