Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

Isn't it beetter to stay away from Iron Reflexes and just take Items with Armor+Evasion both?
Because of the dimishing return stuff and evasion for big bosses and armor for the mobs - should be more viable then just going pure armor.
Make
Spectral Throw
great again
How does MrPetrov's build compare to Nugiyen's for Hardcore only? Point Blank seems a bit iffy to me is why I ask...

Can anyone compare their pro's/con's in a list format?

How useful is resolute technique? Do monsters have high evasion later on?
Given how you also get accuracy from dex, if you grabbed a couple of accuraccy nodes instead would you still miss a lot, that the extra dmg and status ailments from crits would not make up for the lost dps from missing a hit?
Would like a 10%-15% chance to crit make up for the missed shots or you miss way more than that?

I think part of the argument is that it lets you take strength nodes instead of dex nodes. The +life from strength nodes really adds up and with resolute technique you're not really missing those +dex nodes. If you're following this build you're hardly getting any %armor or %evade passives so heavy investment in dex nodes doesn't do a lot for you

Also, bows have very low base crit, even getting to 10-15% would take a lot of work I think. And also, with life leech you're really depending on your damage to help keep you alive, misses can be bad news

Reaching 10% crit doesnt seem that hard, you can get 90% increased crit chance by using 4 passive points to pick the adjacent nodes in the dps build. You also get 80% increased critical stike chance when using a 20% quality elemental hit gem.

I was more wondering about how much you would miss with the accuracy you get from the dex nodes u have already picked. You pick 240 dex in the dps build and a 12% accuracy passive, meaning 540 accuracy, more if you count any dex or accuracy you might be getting from gears.
Now would that be enough for lategame, perhaps with 1 more accuracy node? Would i end up missing like once every ten shots or more like once every 3 shots? It is kinda hard to say how good 540 accuracy is.

Is it better to go straight for the Shock nodes or better to get the Elemental Damage nodes around Catalyse first?
Can anyone give me an idea of the main differences between the all out DPS build and the tanky one? Do these require different playstyles?

Also, is Life gain on hit or Life leech better? Are they both good at a certain point and if so, when should I switch?

I don't suppose anyone could post their level and current maximum HP? I'm trying to decide how important that 40 HP from the bandits is, because I'm thinking of doing the 8% resist instead.

What do you think about extending out to get Static Shock with the 'Old Open Beta Build'? It's another 8 points away, but you can also pick up Divine Toughness along the way. Is Static Shock worth that many points to extend out to?
I'm pretty set on following the high dps build but avoiding RT. People keep talking about how a 10% crit chance is low... but factor in the heart of the build (LMP with lightning/ice shot) and you are criting very often and those crits are doing dmg. I'm also sitting at 84% chance to hit with mediocre gear at lvl 57... so I can easily get that up into the 90's. My plan is to take the 2 12% life nodes on the way to RT but stop there, and go right from the NE side of the tree and take a bunch of ele nodes, crit nodes, life nodes, and arcing blows. I will have to spend 1 point on a spell power node, but I'm thinking that will be better than wasting so many points on the left side of the tree. Plus, critting rocks, and I don't wanna be hamstrung if and when they reintroduce diamond flasks.

100 point builds? ugh so pointless to use so many points in designing a build, really well thought out thread but just smacks of clueless noob with so many points spent.

You are the clueless noob. There are already level 86s, which is 104-106 points depending on bandit rewards. Level 78-80 is all 100 point builds require, which is easy now. I know people who have more than 2 80s already. Thing have changed since closed beta, and with Act 3 expansion coming soon there will likely be even more skill points from side quests.

I wouldn't even consider 111 point builds unreasonable with the upcoming content, or if you plan on playing the same character for a few months.

Just wondering, what's the rationale behind the 40 Max HP, but then 2 skill points?

Is the 40 health really that helpful?
