Get a 5L on bow or chest.

Get more HP on your gears.

Try swapping out Faster Attack with WED for your LA.

I have some doubts maybe can you help me. I thought that only item of my gear that was not bad is the bow xDD. Ok i was in a big mistake but what am i looking for in a bow? The current has good elemental rolls and good attacks per second. What more is needed in perfect bow for this build?

Could I use ice shot most the time or stick to lightning shot?

Does anyone actually do analysis on how good is quality added lightning over faster attack? I just realized that added lightning quality actually increase the shock chance by 10% when you hit. I have not found any thread discussing the benefit of quality added lightning on lightning arrow. (There is a discussion on added lightning supplementing freezing pulse).

No doubt its a nice bow. But since you wanted improvement, and you are already lv 60ish, that's why I'm suggesting to upgrade your bow. Apart from Elemental Damage affixes, you should be looking at getting bows with about 1.7 aps. Bows like Thicket or Imperial already have a 1.55 and 1.5 APS base respectively. An IAS affix roll would push it up to a decent APS speed.


185.73 DPS
+ 12% IAS = 1.51 APS


254.56 DPS
+ 11% IAS = 1.72 APS
(Still saving up to upgrade ^^)

APS not only scale up your DPS, but also improves your survival due to Life Gain on Hit or Life Leech. In some cases, it can keep your HP top up while you face off a horde of mobs, without moving.

In Merciless, I personally IMHO suggest a minimum of 200 dps on bow. When mapping 66 maps, 250 dps. But that's just a rough gauge. There are other factors like nodes you have taken and affixes you have from other gears. Given a choice, of course the higher the better. As long as you are comfortable with what you are running in.

You can. Its up to individual flavors. At times, I switch to my Ice Shot with facing mobs or running maps with high Lightning Resist or Necros. Do note that your choice of curse may have to change too.

I believe you have already sensed the differences and the pros/cons of each skills. But you may want to have Lightning Damage affix in your weapon/gears if you have taken shock nodes and wanted still to shock mobs for better damage.

Is Ice Shot or similar a dps decrease? I really don't want to spend the points to go into the Templar tree for Static Blows.

This IS a LA build. NEver the less, I still prefer LA over Ice Shot because LA AoE those around your target where else Ice Shot only hits those behind your target.

I just got my 6L tri ele thicket bow recently. I have been thinking of slotting blood magic as the 6th gem and remove the blood magic key stone.

Considering also use my old 5L as the weapon swap for single target hit and utilize my chest 5L for more auras since i'm now with mana again.

anyone ever tried this combination whether its workable?
