Petrov's Elemental Bow Ranger Build(s) (0.10)

thanks. I improved a bit, had some lightning dmg rings in inventory, now I have 800 dmg on LA. but still is very low. on my other char, marauder, I have 2k dps on ground slam with mediocre gear. I assume that the lack of dps on the ranger is because to many hp/STR nodes and no dex. On what lvl should I expect higher dps independently of the gear? I see some ele nodes on the skill tree later on.

Could you also post your current skill tree? I know you said you've gone route nr 2 but would still help asess your situation better.

Gearwise, like was said before you need better jewelery. I'd also say you should switch out your belt, 20-25% ele dmg belts aren't uncommon and the rest of the stats on yours aren't too great so you should be able to get a better replacement. Furthermore get better gloves, while life and flat damage on them is nice you also want IAS and maybe res. Don't like your armor too much either, sure, there is life on it but you still want res too and at least a 4L so you can increase your single target damage with Frenzy or Ele Hit depending on what you use.

Overall from looking at your gear I'm guessing you're having low resists too? Try http://poe.xyz.is/ in order to find items that will help you out, sometimes you can stumble across good deals.

Honestly, the answer is probably going to be that you simply need better gear. At 59 with... and the rest pretty mediocre gear, I can face tank most of act 2.

My opinion is pick up the easy parts for no more than a chaos (rings, ammy, gloves, boots, quiver, ect...) and then try to get a decent bow (5L) or a decent armor (5L) for an exalted. Once that happens, you should be in business. If you really don't have any currency, just farm ledge in a group until you get all rich.

I should also note that I played a double totem witch and a EK shadow to level 72 and the ranger is the easiest. We will see how mapping goes but I assume that will be a breeze also.

Yeah but with ground slam you hit how Many mob ? Wtih your la/chain/lmp you can hit a lot of mob more than 50 and on pack mob with the aoe you can hit one mob 10' time+Shock so its really powerfull.

Hello, will the triple ele dmg bow(how in the post higher) be better than my? I play ele dmg archer with LA.
One question else: how many WED% items must be weared? I have only quiver with 26% WED.

How much is enough or needed

This looks like a tough question. Several important numbers missing. Like:

1) how much dps do you want to achieve?
2) what is your current dps?
3) how many str nodes, projectile dmg nodes and elemental nodes, etc, did you take?

The scale is quite complicated and even I have not seen a formula to calculate how much is enough. The RNG of items in this game is also so random that its hard or almost impossible to get 2 identical magic or rare gear. Thus its hard to give a definate answer. But I do know what are important.

A) Play smart. When u see danger, move back.
B) Elemental Damage, Attack Speed, Projectile Damage etc all contribute to my damage.
C) Being alive = more damage dealt.

You may not need all 5 items to have %WED. Maybe 3 item with high %WED is enough to make up for it while the other gears can have high HP or IAS. Of course having every high affix in every gear is the best, but how often u can get that?

I say, play along. Always see which part of your gear is the worst and upgrade that with the best affordable you can find. Grab any better gear you see (affordable) along the way. WHen you are having difficulty clearing certain quest, group up or move a few maps back to farm experience and currency.

Now I have 3000 frenzy and 750 LA dps without charges. I have 390 str nodes, 80% WED, 30% projectile dmg.
I want to achieve at least 1000 LA dps. I just want understand why many people use only 1 or 2 WED items ( mostly quiver and belt/ring.)

P.S. will every ele dmg type apply to the total dps? for e.g. would some cold dmg on my bow increase LA dps?
