[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

This has probably been asked and answers, but I'm not digging through 44 pages to find it.

Just like recommended in the build I started off using dual strike, with full intention of making some kind of dual wield crit assassin build. I was also using lightning strike as my aoe. During act 2 of ruthless things started to get hairy and a friend pointed me to this build. Which was pretty similar to mine, so i decided to adapt mine. This build is a lot more effective, but I'm feeling more like a caster spamming lighting strike at everything because I'm squishy.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my original build going again, or is a dual strike shadow just not viable? I feel there is no way to use CI with out a caster shield cause its like 20% of my shield.

Thanks for all the attention shown to this build guys, I've received a number of PMs regarding this.

As of now I won't be saying anything yet regarding tbis build so as not to spoil any of the surprises for you guys, but rest assured that I will be updating this build on OB day and I will also be providing a HP-based alternative for the Crit Dagger Shadow concept as well so stay tuned!

Just 3 more days! Hope you're as excited as I am!

Invelasco,

Can you also make a Dual-wielding (daggers) alternative for this build? You know, assassin with a shield... Doesn't look right. Assassin with 2 daggers? Now we are talking.

Hehe, if I had my way, an assassin would only carry one dagger and no shield instead of 2 daggers! :p

But yes I could make a dw alternative but would rather not as this skills that this character uses are more effective for a one-hand user rather than a dual wielder.

You don't actually have to spam lightning strike at everything. You can throw in flicker strike and double strike as well :)

Dual strike shadow can be viable, but first you need godlike ES gear to make up for the loss of the caster shield. If not, then no matter how much DPS you deal and how fast you clear maps, all that exp won't really matter much in the end if you end up dying constantly.

Meanwhile, to add to all the excitement regarding Open Beta, I've decided to show a sneak preview of an alternate HP version of this build that I've been working on and will likely be making come OB. The tree is not 100% confirmed yet, I'm still in the process of thinking out the minor details but the end-product should be similar to this. I'll elaborate more on the reasons/rationale for going this route on the skill tree as well as the progression 2 days from now when OB hits.

How does this build compete with yours?:
Unwavering Stance!
at the beginning of the tree, do u think its better 2 take the weapon dmg or the dex route.
Is this build still good to go or did it get nerfed? It was awhile back when I was going to try this build, but I ended up not playing POE at all. With Open Beta coming up, and no more wipes, I figured I might give it another try. This is the one build that I really wanted to try, but I wonder if they nerfed any of the main skills needed?

They are nerfing CI... But by all means don't let that stop you instead be unique and stick with this build instead of going health like most others.

Going over to the Templar and marauder trees seems a long way to go when there is a lot of hp and more crit in the ranger tree next door. I'm definitely no expert my highest character is level 68, but what do you think of this.

Aha! Well spotted. However, there is a specific reason why I'm heading to the Templar and Mara trees and it's related to one of the core mechanics behind the gameplay style of my current CI crit dagger shadow. I wonder if anyone can spot it?

Also, that's a nice looking build you got there, but considering you're dual wielding, (I assume that because you took Twin Terrors) you probably should get Blinding Speed as well.

Could it be the enemy critical strike multiplier reduction ? That´s the only thing that i notice that´s really different from the ranger area of the passive tree assuming that with the reduction of the granite flask it´s really good against reflection rares.

Nice try! The crit damage reduction nodes are definitely a useful addition to the build, but they're not the reason why I branched into templar/mara
