[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

Level 75 shadow here. After putting in maybe 30 exalts into a gearset I do finally feel 'strong,' but there's no way I can compare to my ele ranger, which has significantly worse gear. Not sure how to feel about the spec right now. I have ~10k DPS with double strike, ~14k with flicker strike, and ~7k with lightning strike. My resists are capped at 75%, and my ES is sitting a little above 5500. Lightning strike actually does decent damage when it lands, but it feels incredibly clunky compared to any top tier ranged aoe killing ability. That being said, I can basically 1-2 shot any mob with double or flicker strike (save for yellows or +Additional Life blues).



I've managed to pick up mana or intellect on just about every possible piece of gear, putting me at ~860 mana. I can run 5 auras, but I choose to sub out Grace because Lightning Strike is too demanding - if I only have enough un-reserved mana to cast 1 or 2 in a row, the flight time limits how quickly I can use it. I don't see how I could realistically run Dream Fragments and stay resist capped without upgrading my helm/removing Sin Trek, which means I have four wasted passive points (20% mana) and noticeably lower ES.

this may be a noob question but why sin trek boots? is it because all of the stats of sin trek are useful to this build? even though the es it gives is little(correct me if its not little)

or is the no leech the reason? thanks

Besides all what you mentioned, claws have just mor style.

If you have a very good chest, 800+ or 900+ es, I think it wouldnt be a problem to go dual claw instead of dagger/shield.

If you have really good gear, what can stop you? Nearly nothing, even if the es is pretty low. You are stun immune, freeze immunge, and leech more hp than enemies can take away from you.

Inva aaid, one hybrid item is good.

shield and chest shouldntb e hybrid obviously, and for other pieces, there are no better hybrids.

Grind Fel Shrine until you're 70, then go farm docks until you're maybe 75ish see how much you can stand doing that. Read the comments I have made in the guide, it's right at the bottom under "Additional advice from other high level players" and then as for cheap gear, go to my shop, found in my sig and look at the "dustbin" or just any area in general. There is alot of good stuff in there for shadows cuz its full of my old gear. The biggest thing I would suggest you do is save currency and get a good ES shield. Hope this helps and isn't too self promotional :) p.s. there is nothing wrong with being carried by other classes, we all do that at some point :)

Thanks for the response, and I have read your advice thread embedded. I'll probably try to contact you in game in the next couple of days, while I peruse your dustbin, and watch for other deals.

I think I've got about 1.5 ex equiv currency that I can liquidate, admittedly not much to make a major shield upgrade, though there is definitely room all around to upgrade.

Question for everybody. What slot(s) are people focusing on to get the str up for some of our gems? Are you just getting what you can and letting the gems level cap, or trying to stay ahead of it?

Yeah I would like to know why Sin Trek is so good too? Is the no life leech that important?

Wait, am I missing something? Double Strike is our main DPS skill, and it only uses 1 weapon. The attack speed or damage does not go up whether or not I am using a shield or 2nd claw. Am I wrong? What am I missing that the 2nd claw adds so much DPS or attack speed?

I bid on your shield. Still dont see the benefit of Sin Trek over Resist boots with movement speed.

But the big question is...why you ditching the CI Shadow? I have long felt that if I had spent as much time and currency on another character as I do on my CI Shadow (like Marauder or Ranger) that character would be far more godlike than my shadow is currently. Is this what you are feeling?
