It looks to me like that one (28 Jun 12) is for Windows 8 while the other one (16 Sep 11) is for XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

I'm on Windows 7 so I used the 16 Sep 11 driver.

Cheers,

Thanks, I went and installed the same one. My first test was the Church Dungeon waypoint, I can move without BSOD! I'll report back later if I get a BSOD or (hopefully) can finally play with sound.

Try the following and please report back:
If you have a creative labs X-fi (not an xtremeaudio), any PCI or PCI-E version,

Click on start menu->Run->Regedit
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Currentcontrolset/Control/Creative Tech

Go to Driver folder.
Then look for the PCI&VEN_1102&DEV_XXXX folder that should be there. Then click on the folder.

Add a new STRING and name it DisableXRAM, and set it to a string value of 1.
If you have more than one PCI&VEN in there, do it for the other folder.

Then restart the computer and test for any BSOD's while running the game or alt tabbing with the game running.

Please report back to see if this improves, fixes, or doesn't fix the issue.
Can you explain step by step for noobs how to add the new sting value of 1? This new strin has an AB symbol?
After adding the sting by Falkentyne and updating win 7 drivers from Stimulants link,i have not crashed in 2 days now! Big thanks!!

using Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
i did the regedit fix, and it worked to some extent, i crashed far less often.
but i still get bsod after transitions, and some are more likely to end up in bsod, like entering the church.

could we please get a more definitive fix for this ?

thanks
I've been using the beta drivers for my X-Fi XtremeGamer and I have not gotten a BSOD since installing them! I am considering this issue resolved for me.

If you have an XtremeGamer and are still getting BSODs, you should definitely install these.

Registry tweak didn't work for me. Beta drivers dated DEC 2011 did, but that's not exactly a fix when other applications have trouble with it, and there's no support on them from Creative.

(Even then, as a free to play game, I can't in good faith call the problem resolved when it's reliant on a non-mainstream fix. The game needs to work on this hardware without requiring a driver change to a beta set.)

I've hopefully create a tool to fix this.

Still getting BSODs after applying the registry fix.

Fatalat1fps.

generally happens on transations.
Got an X-Fi Extremegamer myself and after applying the registry fix and installing the Support Pack 2.5 which contains the beta drivers the BSODs are gone.

:thumbsup:
X-Fi owner here, vanilla version. Happy to report that the beta drivers in the Creative Support Pack 2.5 worked for me! No more Act 2 BSOD crashes :)
