GGG, so your idea of addressing anything evasion related.....

Evasion is useless

GGG: "Lets put in a keystone that lets players convert it into armor"

Acrobatics is Useless

GGG: "For patch 11.0 lets make it half ES and AR, so players can still use them"

So your idea of addressing anything evasion related is to make it usable with other armor types, or completely convert it to another armor type?

Rather than fix evasion scaling, so that going from 50% - 51% evasion in your 70s doesn't require you to go from 16k evasion rating to 50k evasion rating

Rather than remove the entropy system which GUARANTEES you'll get stunlocked and puts a death clock on your character's head, and put one that simply states, "The higher your evasion the better" (entropy + rng) you think monster dmg reduction will "improve" evasion. [At this point i'd rather have 100% pure rng evasion than the entropy system. Atleast I won't be GUARANTEED to die].

Rather than, I dunno, make acrobatics actually play on the mechanic it was created for (half evasion added as acro + additional dodge chance), you apply your typical, and expected, "allow other armor types" band-aid fix.

But no, definitely not. The only thing evasion is good for is to be converted.

Now the new "evasive" characters will be Iron reflexes COMBINED with acrobatics.

Let me tell you guys a little story.

At lvl 72, I had the acro cluster and 16k evasion rating (50% chance to evade). With the new acro in patch 11.0, if I still had the same build, I would have specced out of some offense nodes and into iron reflexes.

This gives me 8k armor. I re-equip my granite of iron skin, and can make use of Enduring cry. Now I have a lot of armor, and endurance charges, AND 30% chance to dodge an attack.

These will be the new "evasive" characters.

Oh btw, GGG you're missing 1 keystone.

Energy Release

Converts All Evasion Rating to Energy Shield

Everything you say is true. Bottom line is iron reflexes + phase acrobatics sounds insane on paper.

But we need to see the actual patch notes. Because it is very likely the devs saw this coming and prevented it. How you ask? Simple - change Iron Reflexes to "Converts all evasion rating into armour. Cannot dodge attacks."

Or maybe they tested it and deemed it fine as it is.

We will see.
I will definitely be delving this matter when I am not on my phone.

If this results in a buff to IR, I am not going to be impressed.

But that aside, it is still an improvement, especially for ev/es users, which going by the skilldrasil, should be quite a few shadows.
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild.
Hm, did not think about mixing it with IR. Acro+Phase acro+1/2 (IR+granite)...

Granted it depends on how damage/hp numbers scale anymore. But while armor values get boosted by lower damage alone, and hp numbers go down to match damage numbers, evasion stays the same. The only thing it's good for is preventing stunlocks on low hp builds (CI/lowlife) and arrow dodging...

Yeah it's highly likely this will have total opposite effect than intended (assuming intended effect was for it to be actually useful for evasion not armor)

I'm likely gonna be flamed, but the only way to fix IR (and allow fixing evasion without causing huge armor overload) is to remove it.

Or evasion builds that normally used Acrobatics can ignore IR but can use Granite Flasks which was impossible before. If Granite still gives same bonus and all enemies do less damage they might be useful with Acrobatics.

Doubt anyone would flame you, cos you are right :). Iron reflexes should have never made it to open beta, it makes it impossible to have proper armour balance. But it did make it, so we kinda learned to deal with it and moved along.
Agreed with the removal of iron reflexes.
Iron Reflexes has its use, but it should not be the mainstay of the Evasion character as it appears to be now. It could reasonably (perhaps) be said to be the mainstay of the Evasion melee character, but even that's suboptimal.

There was a great discussion about a keystone called "Cheat Death." One suggestion would have it work like this:

"Attacks that reduce your health below 0 AND deal at least XX% of your max HP in one hit have their damage reduced by a percentage of your Evasion equal to the percentage of max HP it would deal."

That was a pretty appropriate keystone for a pure evasion user.

I doubt they saw anything coming. The only armor types they know are armor and energy shield. Evasion is just something they included for the sake of including evasion.

I used to use ES/EV in closed beta. This was before the discipline nerf. Now, with the nerf, ES/EV is practically useless.

Evasion doesnt do anything, and you can't get high enough evasion with ES/EV armor anyway.
Your ES will be so low, that all it takes is 3-4 hits from a couple monkeys (be it hits or the rocks they throw) to deplete.

So you have low stats already. Now you take acro, and still have to invest 5 points into it (I'm assuming it's the same investment), and now you have half your ES. So only 2 rocks from monkeys.

Except you can now use granite and endurance charges. Which defeats the purpose of going ev/es in the first place. Might as well drop the es/ar, go full evasion, get iron reflexes, and get acro.

Yes, you are right that it helps ev/es users, i definitely won't disagree with you there, but the way it helps them (making them resort to using granite and endurance charges, aka armor) is the problem imo.

Cant wait to hear what you have to say.
