If you die in Anarchy league you go to Standard so imo casuals might as well play in that league because there is no downside and you get to see a cool mechanic and get new uniques and base items.

If you die in Anarchy, you stay in Anarchy.

You don't go to standard until October 8th.

The post by GGG suggests otherwise.

Death in Hardcore goes to Standard.
Death in Onslaught goes to Standard.
At the end of Anarchy, chars move to Standard.
At the end of Onslaught, chars move to Hardcore.
They're finally introducing a ladder system! Thank the lord someone figured out why D2 was so addicting!

Love the new changes, and I suspect more buffs to melee in the patch notes ;D

Don't like the Eternal Orb at all. Even at the highest rarity tier, it devalues the effort or awe in finding things like this:

Sure I can now GG a 27% IAS on the axe but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it. Finding the rarest and best rares was meant to be a long term and expensive goal. This just makes the whole process easier.

P.S: It doesn't help newbies one bit because they can't afford to exalt-eternal. So who is this system for? Bricking a potentially gg item is a risk we have to take and one we accept.

It helps newbies because items which are "godly" now but not "eternal orb"-"godly" will fall in price, which leads to other "good" items falling in price as well. Like how 5-linked armors falled in price massively.

As for your " Finding the rarest and best rares was meant to be a long term and expensive goal": that is far more true now than it was before. Before it was a lot a matter of RNG and gambling, now it is a goal you can methodically build towards step by step.

It makes the game easier for newbies, doesn't "help" them. There's also a downside to it, as you'll quickly find the rares you're picking up are worthless where-as they were decent a month ago. Reminds you of another game?
I felt like I was reading written porn when I read this. SO SEXY! OMG WEDNESDAY COME ALREADY!
IGN: UrName(Standard)

IGN: Mr_Freezy(Anarchy) or S_P_O_R_K_E_R (Anarchy, usually on this one now for farming)

Wow these changes are amazing, and the new leagues, extremely well done GGG.

Haven't been playing games for 2 months or so now, hope to be there for these events.

Does the armour changes make it so that a melee character can survive a hit from Vaal Oversoul in merciless?
I play games... shocked, i know.
The patch looks great overall but feedback from my point of view:

I was really hoping to see a crit affect added to straight melee damage to counter the reason not to go physical with elemental added. Where is the crushing blow, punture, or benefit to critting physical damage...

The reduction of overall dmg from monsters has to greatly outway the reduction you are doing to life and es nodes. The biggest problem with my melee characters is the damage I take not the damage I deal. I added to tons of ES nodes because im weak compared to the damage im recieveing not because the ES nodes out weigh the damage nodes overall. 1 major dysnc almost equals death no matter how much damage I deal.

I Like the idea of new items in the new leagues, I would like to see more league only items be transferable at the end of the league into HC mode. This gives me reason to start a new character and play a league where losing many uniques and self found items at the end of the race if I am alive makes me just want to farm HC. I love D2's style of ladder and items where new uniques where only able to be found if playing ladder at the time and then after the ladder they transfered into your normal hc or sc mode.

You said armour type skills are getting buffed, that includes evasion?

oh my god i have to change my pants now
fuuuuarrkk and a skill reset <3 now i can respect all my lvl 60+ failed builds lol
I am hoping, and would love to see a listing of passives that will change with before/after numbers as well as a before/after passive tree.

I was going to take a witch up to get to righteous fire but that sounds like it'll be more difficult/less viable now.

Unless they modify righteous fire or the ES rebalance will allow for the same obtainable ES through more nodes allocated. Which hopefully are freed up through increase to damage nodes so requiring less spell damage nodes currently. That'd be the give/take I'd like to see. Already the INT node which is urrently +30 int will now be +20 int AND 20% spell elemental damage. That's 20% damage worth of nodes I can use for ES (if available)

Dissapointed, really.
I thought atleast all the Mods of the Leauges can be used for every type of gamer.
A HC player, who wants to see the Anarchy features has to play SC, which will end up in wasting time cause he will never ever play this character again.
Also the challenge mode, it's nice that we get something for it and I dont relly care how hard this is but it looks like minecraft. (Use Wisdom Scroll --> Use a pickaxe)

Atleast the health bars are switchable, cause they look horrible imo.

And the worst part is probably to remove the Kaoms. I dont want to offend anyone here but you guys said: People wanted to see how the metagame works without Kaoms. (Obviously just casual player, which play 1-3 hours a day say that cause the will never be able to afford one - so why remove a good feature for people who play alot and get a chance to be nearly invinsible? - just because people whine about how OP an Item is which they wont have once anyways)

(Sorry for all mistakes, English is not my Main Language)

LOL, that elitism. A lot of people who own Kaoms know precisely how OP it is and wish that it will get nerfed. Unlike you, some people have enough integrity to point out when things are wrong even though they are gaining advantages by those things.
