Updated Open Beta Date Information

Seen this coming. OB delayed indefinitely.

At the rate GGG releases content, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see OB until 2013.

Here's a tip GGG, use some of that supporter money to hire new devs to get your game, that you've been working on for 5 years, finished.

Sorry, I'm not an ass kisser like the rest of these folks, I tell it like it is.

Hm, too bad :(

I don't really care about features or combat control or lag spikes or missing pvp or trading system.
There is only one thing I care about at this point, and that is character persistency. Having a wipe when the open beta starts takes most of my motivation to play away, and even when I play, I sometimes feel like I wasted time, since after the wipe, the level progression is designed to last for years.

I do understand that a lot of the planned features are needed to appeal to the crowd at the start of an open beta, but all I care about is the moment where I can start playing after the wipe. All those features can be implemented afterwards, since there will always be features added anyway.

And it's the same for most people I try to recommend this to. When they hear that there is an Open Beta wipe, they are not even interested in starting to play now.
But then again, most of these people, and myself, only have their semester break until the end of september.
So even when the Open Beta can't start in August, I would really appreciate the needed wipe around that time.
I do think that many interested hardcore gamers would be more drawn to the game by a final wipe and the followed character persistency, than by an open beta start and all the available features.

This.

Moderated

Need some moderation here.

As for Kabraxis, lower your expectations. PoE engine limitations are a reality we should accept. There's no turning back.

I haven't even been able to play the game. (Very unlucky with the invite timer.) But from the looks of the game it looks great, take as long as you need to make it perfect.
Please it civil, guys.

On topic: It's hard to make estimates about when it'll all be finished. We don't mean to keep pushing it back, but there are times when we find that we need to squeeze in more awesome and that takes time, etc.

I fully support changing the release date to whatever you want, but as the time spent in closed beta gets longer and longer, can we get some sort of legacy league on the characters when OB hits instead of a flat wipe due to the amount of time spent on them?
I hope that you go into Open Beta when you've decided that "yes, I would be happy releasing the game in this state". You mentioned previously that it's like a soft launch of the game, so it's the ideal time to identify any major problems with what would otherwise be your release build.

no. There is 0 sense in splitting the community at the launch date in such an unnecessary way.

hells to the no!!!
what makes this game and the community here so great is that they have kept it small and in the hands of people who love the game. Don't ever change GGG.
if people want to start playing the game bad enough then they will pay the 10 bucks to support it and get a beta key. and if u can't handle waiting till the wipe then only play till lv 20 or so the wipe it your self and try out a new build and don't fall inlove with just one toon for now. now is the time to play with that skill tree and make all mistakes with builds we can so that later when there are here to stay we know what and how to do it right.

and as for ice arrow..lol ya would be great, but wouldn't a gem for summons charging Rhoa be the bomb!!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CHRIS AND BE PUSHED BY NO ONE.

P.S. hurry the hell up :P
