Item Allocation Specifics

sad day when the wee lasseh thinks "efficiency" makes things more fun in a game. last time i checked, people enjoyed challenges.

if people didnt like challenge, then hardcore wouldnt be popular, nor would the races considering if you die you wasted so many hours (or minutes for hour races) to fail.

Hm, efficiency does make the game more fun in many regards. Some people enjoy challenges, too. I like both, actually. After all, Krip -loves- efficiency. And efficiency is barely the right word.

But, yes, I like hardcore, but I think spending all my time spamming the floor is silly and that is not a mechanic I value at all. I enjoy actually obtaining the items, not picking them up off the ground. It's a great feeling getting a really wicked item, as rare as that may be. Taking all of the items from someone? Not nearly as much. I also enjoy actually killing the mobs! (That's the focus of the game, people don't seem to ever remember that :(...)

To each their own, though.

you should really put 6 sockets in this group of loot allocation. I watch out for them mostly in lunaris runs. They are worth 7 jewell orbs.

Exactly this. I posted this earlier. It silly to not allocate 6 socketed whites that vendor for 7 jewelers, when a single jewelers orb would be allocated to a player.
The Devs have spoke, and this is what they have decided as their fix. They should delete all loot topics now, as there is no reason to debate.

I'll be playing whatever I feel like playing at the time.

After reading all these pages, there is only one thing that baffles me about all this. People complaining about FFA being bias towards melee. People seriously seem to not understand risk vs reward.

Melee = Risk of being close. Reward is more opportunities at loot.
Ranged = Risk of being far away from loot. Rewards is less risk of dying due to melee damage.

Its like you guys want the loot to magically teleport to whomever killed it.

I think these options are great, nothing worse than party mates hindering progress by all hanging around a semi-valuable item like vultures, FFA can fix this and so can Permanent Allocation.

I never hated the fact that items could be ninja'd I hated the fact that your entire party would crowd around an item and delay progress.

People acting like vultures was really starting to get on my nerves and it was getting worse.
This is very nice news. I am glad we are being given options. I don't see what the fuss is all about. Now ninjas can play with ninjas, non ninjas with non ninjas. Thanks for the compromise GGG.

Many of them turned into idiots, at least when it comes to forum posts. Wouldn't really trust anyone just because he's from closed beta.
/Permanent Allocation on 24/7.
