Item Allocation Specifics

I like the new allocation system. I will go for only Permanent. I get annoyed when someone ninja loots my stuff while I am busying killing mobs.

GGG made really bad decisions, i played since the begining of the closed beta and i was sure shits will happen about the loot system .

Bad designed : you can't put a name on the loot and say "hey !!! it's semi ffa !! it will be fun"
if you name a loot then you assigned an owner , if the owner can't pickup the item = frustration, basic judgment : others are stealers.

it is basic psychology... sad that people making a game didn't get it

i played d2 for 10 years, i never saw a player complaining about the loot system on party... why ? because the loots are anonymous, so you can't say "you stole my loot " etc...

Secondly, poe and d2 have not the same fanbase/customers base , in d2 everybody said "hello, hi" when entering in a party whereas in poe the guy comes and says "fresh tp " "tp" like he was the king (while the tp are already updated) and when people can't make a tp because they are fighting, he will spam "tp" "tp" etc, the third time he will try to be polite by convenience "tp plz" and the 4th time "TP FUCKERS"

and that's the soft version....

Minor details ? Therefore, why people are so surprised by people not respecting maps to the maker rule; even stealing level 66 maps while their characters are level 78-80 ?

PS: and not to mention people multiboxing ...

GGG should have gone all or nothing, either started with full FFA (like D2) / nameless timer (like now) so that the intended audience was attracted, or just gave the game full allocation loot so the bulk of the current playerbase was attracted.

By giving the "named timer" system earlier in OB, GGG compromised the game in a poor way and now we are in this half-assed spot where some people hate this and others love this.

While if I had my way, it would always be FFA loot. I suppose it was bound to eventually happen that GGG would have to accommodate. I guess at least giving options is the best way to go.
At least I can finally turn off the annoying loot timers when I play with friends.

For me, its because of my "friends" i need Permanent. They are master ninja looters and I never get anything first. Only if they deem "they don't want it". We get along great but always fighting over loot. Now my loot will be mine. Thanks!

Against the changes giving into the entitled crowd. Part of ARPGs is competing for loot and takes out that strategy. As a whole it makes the game easier. I understand why GGG did it but I hope for some of the longer leagues FFA is the only loot option. I'm assuming "I can't find any parties" will be a new theme in the forums. In the context of the game why would a bunch of criminals take the time to divide loot equally?

They are just more options relax. You can still make your parties ffa.

*sigh*, read my signature to understand my opinion on this. Particularly the 2nd line.

I'll be rolling FFA 24/7. Map to Map maker is good though.

I'm kinda glad for this update though. Now I can experience FFA and not some silly short term allocation system that just got annoying over time.

Edit: Please tell me this isn't the "secret awesomey goodness" you were hinting at Chris. If this is all it is, I'm not impressed. :{

No, it's not the secret awesomeness. If anyone bothered to f***ing READ the list for what was coming in 0.11:

Some expected changes in 0.11.0 are:
-More party loot allocation options
-Direct melee buffs
-Rebalance of monster damage
-Improved resync code. The scope of this patch doesn't include the more complex changes to the action prediction system, but will hopefully prevent deaths by resyncing more aggressively when needed.
-Some secret awesomeness that I'm not able to reveal just yet. It's bigger than the other changes in the patch.

We already knew item allocation changes were coming.
very nice. Good job. But i think only unique map should be allocate to randow player. White map, magic a nd rare should be to maker. Hope more ppl suport this idea.

Some great changes, particularly with the looting changes.

That said, I still think that 5/6 link items should be linked as well, in addition to all maps to maker.
Finally.

Now fix the Loot drop with more rewarding Loot, so we have motivation to even play this game again.
